My Words Shared Underground – Unhinged Poem

My innocence is as long as it is from my elbow to your grave,

a side stepping rhythm alone in the dark,

my soil against the coffin top,

we want to imagine the perfection we bring in to this world,

forgetting the doors we’ve close by contrition,

a boom and a splash,

some blood and a flash,

we drive to the hole,

expecting to be heavier than whole,

the doorway drug,

the a-bomb dropping,

following silence,

fingernails stuck in cedar,

blood in my mouth,

soil on my coffin top,

blood in my mouth,

the devils waiting for me in the next room,

soil on my coffin top,

blood in my mouth,

the devil is waiting for me but he’s also waiting for you,

soil on our coffin top,

your blood in my mouth,

the devils waiting for us,

who’s gonna die first!

Who’s gonna die first!
