Was I – Unhinged Poem 2020TOO

I tried to train my name in vain,

to give it sweet success,

but the defiance of myself,

sort a road never spent,

I rode the wicked train,

I saw the scarlet eyes,

seething words or saltiness,

I ended up blind,

lost forever waiting,

for a sky so dark and dim,

I never heard them coming to take me back,

a haggard hole I fell through,

a twisted knife I did mount,

its severance in service lost me,

I bleed across the ground…
