Stuart pushes the door open, peering into the room, searching the room for the source of the noise, eventually spotting Mary, his daughter, standing in the darkness, and breathes a sigh of relief. ”Honey, what are you doing up?” She turns quickly, brandishing a bloody knife. ”Kitty wouldn’t be quite!”

The starship explodes in a brilliant display of colours. “May death be your reward, old friend,” Maldor says, through clenched teeth. “Take a number, the lines only going to get longer,” Jenkins says, placing a blaster to Maldor’s head. ”H-H-How?” ”Not all your crew believe the lies the federation spread!”

The body suddenly drops to the floor, exploding like an overfilled water balloon, drenching Mace, who drops to his knees in frozen terror. ”W-W-Wh-Wh-What t-t-the hell just h-hap-happened?” He says in horror, frantically wiping the liquified remains from his face. “I’d say the disruption we were hoping for, just happened.”

She stands in the doorway, silhouetted by the hallway light, while thick clumps of vomit fall off her, to the floor. ”Mamma,” she says in a high-pitched, whiney voice. ”W-W-What?” Karen says, raising her head from the pillow. “H-H-H-Honey, a-are y-o-you okay?” ”Mamma, he said he’s coming for your soul.”

“Pockets in time?” he repeats, turning towards First Lieutenant Socravic. “Yes, it’s been theorised, but I’ve never actually seen it take place. The dwarf star’s death created a temporal anomaly, that interacted with the particles left from the destruction of the Falcors grav drive.” ”Will it dissipate?” ”That is, unknown.”

The pod crashes into the ground violently, cutting a path through the landscape like a blade through butter, until finally it comes to an eventual stop. For minutes it sits motionless, small sparks erupt throughout its hull, followed eventually by flames. A hatchway explodes open and two figures tumble out.
