Day 130 – Pant’s Down – 50 Word Story

“So, are you sure?”

“I asked, didn’t I?” she says as she awkwardly shuffles in her seat.

“I know, it’s just, I never expected you to want to see it, not mine anyway,” he says as he stands in front of her and pulls down his pants.

“WOW,” she says.

I liked your extended version, but I LOVED your 50 word story. I’m bias, because I enjoy micro-fiction a lot.

Thanks so much, I really like the idea of playing around with the 50 word stories. But, because they leave so much for the reader to fill in, which drags you in even more, I inevitably feel dragged into putting a larger spin on my own shorts to satisfy my own demented need to purge the story from my skull 🙂

You may have something. It might be fun to collaborate with a few micro-fiction writers and trade 50 word stories with and extend them. I’ve got around twenty 50 word stories on my blog. How many have you written? Again, this is just an idea, so no sweat if you’d rather not. I know at handful more bloggers who write micro-fiction and may be game.

It’s an interesting idea, I never thought of trading stories,… So far I’ve written 13, and have expanded them all, but, the 50 word versions are very different for the expanded versions. I love the idea.

Cool! Really? You’ve extended all of your stories? Well, you’ll be a pro, then. Give me a week to assemble at least four to five WP bloggers whom I’m pretty sure will be at least interested to listen. Slasher Monster Magazine might be a good place to showcase our work since most of the writers I know, delve in the dark side. If you have others you know, by all means, contact them if you’d like. I’ll be in touch in a few days. My email is yayrperez@yahoo.com. This might be fun to do throughout October. If you have other ideas, let me know! Thanks Matthew — the game is on! 😀

Let it all commence, I should have another 6 or 7 50 word stories by then, I’ve challenged myself to write at least 3 a week and to expand them on the same day, but I’m very open to seeing what other people will do with them. I never really have an idea when writing the 50 to how it will turn out as an expanded version, so it all sounds perfect, and I’ve been hunting for something to send to Slasher Monster for the last few weeks. My email is earth2165@yahoo.com. October sounds like the right time and I’ll see if I can find a couple of people who would be up to the challenge.

Excellent! I’ve contacted Matt (FlyTrapMan) to get some input from him, see if he’d be interested in joining, and to make sure he’s fine with using SMM to post our stories. Nice! Talk with you soon!

An extension might be an anti-climax … polka-dot underwear, perhaps?

Haha, the things that could be done….

  3. […] You can read the original 50 Word Story here, I’d be interested in what you think of the full story that came from the short. […]

While I expect to be victimized by a joke here, maybe something about a tattoo or a welt from a paddling by the principal, it’s still worth waiting around to find out.

In this form, it can be what you want, in the expanded form, it’s a little harder 😜

    I cannot wait!

are you sure an extended version will fit? And what’s that about inviting people to ‘extend it themselves’? Wicked.

I’m sure a little bit of playing around will make it work..
