Salvador reaches desperately out towards the ever-fading rainbow, void of any care and want. His eyes glassy, and brow moist.

Carla glances momentarily up from the ships unresponsive control board and lets out a stuttered growl of disapproval before drawing her focus back on the crisis at hand. “Pull yourself together Captain, if we’re to save the micro verse we must detach ourselves from chasing rainbows,” she quips with quivering lip and venomous tongue.

“B-But the colours are so beautiful.”

Her eyes stare up towards him, but no words leave her lips only the colour from her once rosy cheeks.

“C-C-Captain, that isn’t a rainbow, n-not any rainbow I’ve ever seen be-before. We must get the s-ship out of here before it’s too late!” she cries.

“It’s already too late child of Rameriaz, I have taken away all that made the captain and replaced it with all that makes me,” Salvador says as he turns to face Carla, his eyes bloody and his stance almost puppet like as if invisible hands were holding him high into the air.

“What do you want?”

He smiles awkwardly, like a baby who had just learnt how to walk but still can’t get the motor functions to respond correctly. “I want what all living things want. I want to LIVE! I WANT TO BE FOREVER!”

“How can HE help you?”

“His seed continues on through each generation, and through each generation I will be forever.”

Carla laughs loudly, and smirks. “You don’t understand the human reproductive systems that well, do you?”

He stands there silently watching her, then his face screws up with confusion. “I see no error in my assessment, your former lover does not contradict my path. He is the creator, whilst you are the incubator. I will live on through his seed, while you will both die off.”

Carla laughs louder this time, “My former LOVER? He was certainly delusional, wasn’t he?”

“Continue.”

“Continue what?”

He looks at her with strained eyes, as his face loses all colour and shape. “C-C-Continue you-your words. T-T-Tell me w-why he is d-d-delusional?”

She grins broadly, “You have all the answers at your fingertips, that is, if you truly encompass all that was Salvador.”

“I-I-I,” his face screws up, his anger etched in every fold of his flesh. “I AM ALL AND EVERYTHING!” he bellows as wayward beams of colourful lights rip through flesh. “I AM THE OMEGA! I AM FOREVER!”

“You just killed your host,” she says with a tightening of her smirk and the wink of an eye.

“T-T-T-THEN I-I-I, I WI-WILL TAKE Y-Y-YOU!” he screams.

For moments they stand locked in silence before the command console flashes violently and sirens begin screaming in their ears.

“W-W-W-WHAT IS HA-HAPPENING?” He screams.

“How long did you exist, before we came along? How long were you drifting out in the stars?”

“I-I-I, I DO NOT KNOW,” he says softly, as the streams of light fall gently to the floor, like tails on a wild dog that has finally been tamed. “B-But it seemed like for-forever.”

“I doubt it will be compared to now,” Carla says with a wry smile as the sirens stop, seconds before the ship’s self-destruct sequence tears itself apart.
