5 Minute Horror Story – Time Isn’t Mine To Count – The Second Short Story From 2020TOO Book One

“I DO care what you say, I just don’t think it’s gonna protect you, not against the government anyway,” Sally scoffs with a sarcastic smile painted across her lips.

“Don’t be a complete tard Sally, you know it’s not supposed to protect me from the government, it’s supposed to protect me against the disease that the government let loose upon us all, in a poorly executed attempt at thinning the heard.”

She lets a stifled laugh escape her lips and gives him a jovial wink. “The government didn’t deliberately let the virus loose on us ya dork, it was the FUCKING Chinese! Our government tried everything they could to stop it getting out, but no matter what they did, it just wouldn’t stick! So instead of giving up and sticking their fat heads in the sand like an ostrich, they did everything they could to prepare us for when it happened.”

“Y-You really believe the whole Chinese story?”

“Yeah, why wouldn’t I believe it? The data that was released at the beginning of all this SHIT showed exactly where it came from, and it was definitely the Chinese!”

“Wow, I didn’t realise you were into that sort of shit.” He says as a beaming smile broadly grows across his face.

“You’d be surprised by what turns my dials,” she says with a sly smile. “Anyway, to get back to the matter at hand, and to be perfectly honest, I really find it hard taking hygiene suggestions from you.”

His smile quickly disappears from his lips, and he stares at her with a furrowed brow, “Wait, w-what the FUCK is that supposed to mean? W-What’s wrong with my hygiene?”

“Do you really want to open that can of worms NOW?” she says with a raised eyebrow, while she flicks her lips with her tongue.

He shrugs his shoulders and stares at her with wide eyes. “DUH! I asked, didn’t I? That’s gotta mean something, doesn’t it? So why don’t you just open your can of worms, and we’ll see where we all land.”

She brushes the hair from her eyes, and sighs loudly. “As long as you’ve got the time, I’ve got the answers.”

“Got it, now get on with it already,” he says as he looks at his watch, then back up to her. “But take in mind that we don’t have long.”

“Are you really sticking to it?”

“Too FUCKING right I am! So out with it! why won’t you take hygiene suggestions from me?”

She sighs once again and rolls her eyes. “For the record, you Marcell, are one of the dirtiest people I have ever met, and I just don’t mean in relation to your personal hygiene. I mean, your personal hygiene has never been any good, but since this pandemic you’ve gotten worse, and by worse, I mean you don’t seem to give a damn about cleaning up anything behind you. Your underpants are a different colour to what they should be, and your socks are like shoes, they don’t change shape or circumference when you take them off. Yet you sit here touting on about keeping our meetings under four hours and rabbiting on about your fancy-schmancy masks. How about you wash your FUCKING hands once in a while and see how safe that keeps you as well!”

His brow raises, and he stares at her with bewildering eyes, only to have the silence broken by the sound of an alarm buzzing wildly. He casts a grimace down to his watch, and then back up to her.

“WELL CONTINUE THIS NEXT TIME!” he grunts as he thrusts himself to his feet and rushes out of the room, stopping in the doorway. “I-I, I can’t have you be a close contact, m-my wife wouldn’t understand.”

“Get the fuck out lover boy,” she sighs as she points to the doorway.
