I Said Swollen And Red – Unhinged Poem 2020TOO

eyes faded and green,
looked on me,
broken and bloody,
I lay crumpled in a heap,
who was I,
was I complete?
swollen in ways I never knew,
parts detached,
forgiveness vacated from shape,
I ask,
yet receive something else,
your trusted words,
sultry and slurred,
what was,
my body in a shiver,
underneath the lies,
hides a truth not seen or sought,
open and lay here,
where our fates end,
and our forever’s begin…
