A lie,
it’s how it started,
it grew,
it became something new,
it twisted,
it turned,
it devoured me whole,
I called,
and I cried,
I prayed for release,
but it never came,
so I fought,
I drew blood,
mine,
not its,
I begged,
and I pleaded,
It never heard my words,
it never cared,
it never saw,
and in that,
I had my chance.
