She huddles in the corner of the room, as it shakes violently, the wind howls furiously, as it slams into the side of the building, she presses her hands tightly to her ears, and yells at him, as he stands in the centre of the room, holding his hands out, symbolically. He looks down at her and smiles.
“Sister, why do you hide, it’s coming to take us home, rejoice,” he says with a laugh.
“STOP IT!” She screams.
“Stop what? This? We can’t stop this, not now, they are almost here, they are coming to save us, to take us home, where we belong.”
“YOU FUCKING FOOL, STOP IT, THEY’RE NOT COMING TO SAVE US, THEY’RE COMING TO KILL US!”
He turns his head to the side, a confused look on his face, “Kill us? Why would our people do that? We are their lost children, that are coming to take us home.”
“YOU’RE WRONG, DON’T YOU GET IT, MUM AND DAD RAN FROM THEM, BECAUSE THEY STOLE SOMETHING, SOMETHING THEY WANT BACK, SOMETHING THEY WILL KILL US FOR!”
He drops his arms, and the room stops shaking, “What did they take?”
Slowly, she takes her hands of her ear, and awkwardly get to her feet. “This,” she says, holding out her hand, he looks at her hand, then back up into her face.
“There’s nothing there,” he says, curling his lip and raising an eyebrow.
“Everything’s there, don’t you see, us, we’re what they stole.”
“Us? I don’t understand?”
“You don’t understand, because you never listen,” a voice says from the doorway, they both turn to face a man, his skin blue, void of emotion, as are his green eyes.
“What’s she talking about Dad, why would they want to kill us?”
“Because, many, many moons ago, when you two were but specks, you were bonded with a piece, each, of the amulet of Rana’mar, a powerful weapon, that in the hands of those who wish to do wrong, could destroy the whole universe. Your mother and I fled our home, to protect you, to, save you, while, the others, the greedy, the spiteful, the wicked, desire to rule, to, control the very fabric of existence, and you two, would give them that power. So, that, is why they would want to kill you, so they could reform the amulet, and rule the galaxy.”
He laughs, “Y-Y-You’re joking, r-rig-right?”
He father stares at him for some time, before smiling, “Of course I am.”
The boys nervously smiles, and looks at his sister, “S-S-See, they wouldn’t kill us.”
“Oh, they’ll kill you, that you can be sure, you see, the reason why we left our home world was that I killed their king, and they swore bloody vengeance on my blood line,” he says, as he grabs his son by the shoulder, and squeezes. “And that’s the real reason why, if they ever found us, they’d kill you both on site.”
