  • Day 184 – Namesake – Whispered Words

    Day 184 – Namesake – Whispered Words

    Delusions taking over,

my mind lost in something that cannot be real,

    trying to find my focus,

trying to get out of this hell,

    I’m slowly sinking under,

    sinking into the dark,

    the blackness is taking over,

    it’s taking over my heart,

I call but you can’t hear me,

I scream but you don’t see,

    I’m slowly sinking under,

    sinking into the dark,

    praying to all above me,

    calling to all below,

somethings got a hold of me,

    something won’t let me go,

    so answer my fucking messages,

    pick up your fucking phone,

I’m dying here in the darkness,

    I’m dying all alone.

  • Day 183 – Nevermore – Whispered Words

    Day 183 – Nevermore – Whispered Words

    Lies,

    deviations from the path,

a path that was soaked in blood,

    blood I spilt,

    blood I released,

when I struck them with my blade,

    how red it was,

    and how they screamed,

    I loved them you know,

for I didn’t do it out of hate,

    but I saw the signs,

I knew what was to come,

    I saw our end,

when the beast was to come,

    so I made their escape,

I freed them from it’s grasp,

    and now I sit here,

    waiting,

    suffering,

    for it’s saving me,

    for last.

  • Day 182 – Expired – Whispered Words

    Day 182 – Expired – Whispered Words

    The darkness,

    is ripping at me,

    clawing at me,

    dragging me in,

    taking my sin,

    my life’s no longer mine,

    can’t you hear me crying,

    oh please,

why won’t you let me die,

    oh please,

why won’t you let me die,

    the darkness,

    is circling me,

    tearing at me,

    keeping me in,

    stripping my sin,

    my life was never mine,

    GOD,

    can’t you hear me crying,

    oh please,

why won’t you let me die,

    oh please,

why won’t you let me die.

  • Day 181 – Suffocate – Whispered Words

    Day 181 – Suffocate – Whispered Words

    Fighting,

    not to survive,

    but to escape my fate,

    the pain,

    the agony,

    the torment,

fighting for the escape I want,

    not the one I’ll get,

    I want to be free,

    not stuck here,

    not working for him,

    not for anything,

    so I breathe it in,

    no more fighting,

    take it down,

    let it smother me,

    choking me,

for I am winning my freedom,

    but not,

    my escape,

    for it’s cold dead eyes,

    see me…

  • Day 180 – Listen – Whispered Words

    Day 180 – Listen – Whispered Words

    Time is our enemy,

    as well as our friend,

    we move with it’s movement,

    we age with its hands,

    we can’t avoid it’s existence,

    we can’t escape it’s embrace,

and as my eyes grow weary,

    as my limbs grow weak,

I look for my next victim,

    for I am a leech,

    extending my life,

    escaping my death,

    searching and hunting,

    before it’s to late.

and that’s how you found me,

    Or did I find you?

    it matters not anyway,

for I have no more to say,

except time your time has run out.

  • Day 179 – Numb – Whispered Words

    Day 179 – Numb – Whispered Words

    Mind numb,

    pain throbs,

    blood pumps,

    feet aches,

    eyes close,

    mouth hurts,

    light dims,

    dirt falls,

    tears form,

    too late,

    no choice,

    life ends,

    regrets none,

    so long,

and thanks for all the beers.

  • Day 178 – No – 50 Word Story Expanded

    Day 178 – No – 50 Word Story Expanded

“Three years, three fucking years and not a fucking word, nothing. And now, you come here, to my home, and expect me to give you money. Well, I won’t do it Conrad, I just won’t!”

“You completely miss-understand where I’m coming from Mortimer. I’m not giving you a choice in matter, this is not a negotiation. It’s simple, either you pay the money, or we have problems, and by that, I mean you.”

“Threats will do little against me, how dare you think so…..”

“Fuck you, the money, before this becomes more than just a conversation,” he says, with a wry smile.

Leaping to his feet and thrusting a pointed finger towards the door, he yells, “Get out and never set foot before me again!..

  • Faded Flesh

    Faded Flesh

    Time is reset,

    as we’re made to relive,

    the story again,

    over and over,

    each moment,

    each choice,

    remade,

    replayed,

    obstacles changed,

    trusts betrayed,

    the beast makes its move,

    and plays its hand,

    but so do we,

    death,

    is fluid,

    as is life,

    for our sins,

    we will fight,

    in faded flesh,

    to get,

    into,

    the light.

  • Final Thoughts

    Final Thoughts

I can’t remember where it all started,

I just know one day I had an idea,

    a story of darkness,

    of blood,

    it had a name,

    The Roundhead it was called,

I carried it like an expecting mother,

and then I birthed it into this world,

    little did I know,

    that this simple little story,

    would take, my fucking  soul.

    Death Board

    Names erased,

    their blood spilt,

their sins now with the beast,

    the fight seems lost,

    it thinks it’s won,

and now its drawing down to the final hour,

our fate in the hands of fiction,

in the hands of the unknown,

    can my words save us,

    or will they be unwritten?

    can the past break through,

or is the present too far gone?

    do I dare to believe,

    do I dare to hope,

    that somehow,

    that someway,

    the beast will fall…

  • Sideways

    Sideways

    It flowed,

    from my throat,

from where it tore me open,

I saw the puddle form before me,

    as I slowly slipped away,

    and then,

    it was cold,

    it was dark,

    in the monsters den,

    where it dragged my sin,

    my soul,

    but soon,

    more came,

    to rot with me,

    down here,

    and that’s when I realised,

    that nothing was over,

not until the beast had won,

    it could still be,

    it could still be undone.

  • Me

    Me

At first the pain was nothing,

and then it started to grow,

    slowly overtaking,

    everything I was,

    everything I’d been,

    this thing,

    whatever it was,

    was something more,

    something not me,

    and it grew,

    into more,

until it was all that I was,

    this thing,

    this shadow,

    of someone,

    I used to be,

    someone,

    who,

    you’ll never see,

    for,

    you’ll never really see me.

  • Broken

    Broken

Did you know this was coming,

    did you see it?

Or was you always a part of it?

    are you like the words,

just pieced together to distract me,

to keep my mind somewhere else,

    when really,

    you were it’s tool,

    you were it’s weapon,

    thrust towards me,

    flesh instead of steel,

did you know you broke me,

    when you left me,

    and it grew,

    until the day,

when I found out the truth,

    when I found you.

  • Crossing Over

    Crossing Over

    The light wasn’t there,

    like I expected it be,

    even though I didn’t believe,

    in anything above,

I still wanted it to be there,

it funny how movies do that to us,

make us expect the tunnel of light,

but for all that was missing,

it was there waiting for me,

even though it tore out my sin,

and sent me to this place,

    it was waiting,

    yet, somehow it was different,

    but, the same,

    and I knew,

    then,

    from that moment,

from the look in it’s dead eyes,

    that our game,

    was far from over.

    Within,

    wanting you,

and there’s nothing I can do,

  • Pain Shared

    Pain Shared

    Pain spread across the globe,

    from one to the next,

it rides it’s wave of destruction,

    we encourage it,

    we allow it,

    we breed it,

    all of us,

    sharing it’s words,

    passing them on,

    allowing it in,

    condemning our fate,

    one we could avoid,

if we just refused to be,

    what society,

    has allowed us to become,

    a world so small,

    but so big,

    and now,

    it comes,

and there’s nothing we can do,

but let the game play out,

    and hope,

    our cards can win.

    Moment’s

    Silence is all that is,

    maybe,

    always was,

    I try to think back,

    before it all started,

    before I,

before I first heard it’s voice,

    my blood ran cold,

    my ears bleed,

and I slowly began to die that day,

    but it was all hidden,

    all a mask,

    you see,

    it’s words were soft,

    it’s words were sweet,

    in the beginning,

but once I knew my fate,

    it turned on me,

and showed me it’s real face,

    one,

    that will never been unseen.

  • My Journey So Far…

    My Journey So Far…

A little over eight months ago I set about breaking the frustration I was feeling of working on, what one day, I hope, will be a completed multi book story, I’ve been working on for quite a few years. I did this by writing short stories and sending them to various publishers throughout the world, getting ideas out of my head, and not into my books. One story I wrote was called the Roundhead, it was about a call centre employee who was presented with a call, from a woman, whose family had been slaughtered by the title character, who stemmed from an old urban legend used to terrify little kiddies. The story was violent, quick and what I thought, bloody decent. Sadly it didn’t get picked up, but, by the time I found out, I had begun this journey, and I thought, why not rework it and post it on the blog. What took place after that was something crazy, insane, and, addictive. A good friend of mine, Garry Williams, an amazing artist, fuled my fire and together we created not only a story that plays with the very fabric of what we know, but with reality itself, as the Roundhead became my misguided muse, trying to steer me towards the ending it wanted. The original story, in part survived, but the world around it, exploded into something, I still am not fully at peace with. I’m proud to share this story with you over the next few days, along with Garry’s artwork, he captured so much of this world and its characters, The Roundhead owes its image to that man, and it’s well aware of that, as you will soon find out. So, all that’s really left to say is, mind the first step, it’s a killer.
