Day 114 – Strength – 50 Word Story

“It’s not fair, it’s not the way it should’ve went down, I could’ve done better,” he yells as he drives punch, after punch into the bag, his knuckles split open, bloody, his face, bruised and swollen.

“There’s no shame in defeat,” a voice says from the shadows.

“I should’ve won!”

  1. […] You can read the original 50 Word Story here, I’d be interested in what you think of the full story that came from the short. […]

  2. Clearly this soul is tortured about their loss. I get that. I’m pretty competitive myself, and I get super hard on myself when I fail. Hopefully the soul will learn from the loss and become better, rather than wallowing in defeat and learning nothing.

    Great story.

    Cheers! ^_^

    1. So true, in defeat, some see failure, embarrassment or even worthlessness, when really, we should see motivation, to strive towards something, to show the world that we are not easily defeated. Thanks again for the feedback, I’m glad you’re enjoying these.

      1. No worries, and you are right. Every chance we are knocked down is a chance to prove we can come back stronger than before and also that there is even more room for improvement which is a great thing because…who wants to hit their ceiling so quickly?

If you have a ceiling, why not try and shatter it and take it to another level?

        Cheers! ^_^

      2. Exactly, we all need to taste defeat, while we can learn from it, otherwise, defeat is just not a moment in time, it’s everything.
