Brain Freeze – 100 Word Microfiction Short Story

I entered a short story competition that required me to write a 1000 word short story in 48 hours. The story needed to meet three things, a genre (A Ghost Story), a location (An Igloo) and an object (A Coffee Mug). It took me a while to find the right idea and to get it to work in a way I was happy with. But like the last time I entered something similar, I enjoyed the desire to find the story that sparked the right way for me. So, for the sake of creativity, here is 1 of the 24 rejected stories in a 100 word format..

Brain Freeze

“The confidence you ooze out of your pours, makes up for the ugliness of your face,” Igor says with a wry smile upon his face.

“At least I don’t look like I’ve been hit by a bus,” Fallon says, as he puckers up his lips and twists up the right side of his face while nodding his head.

“Speaking out of turn like that, can assist in arranging a bus to be out your way, but preferably with you under it, than in it.”

“You’ve been spending way too much time in that igloo of yours, it’s frozen your brain!”
