GOG – 100 Word Halloween Microfiction Short Story

She stares with tear filled eyes at the small vessel’s sensor board, before looking up and meeting his grizzled glare. “I-I-It’s o-o-over…” she says softly.

“And the sun?” he calmly asks. She looks back down at the panel, trying to make sense of the readings displayed before her.

“I-I, I can’t get anything conclusive at this point in time. It appears that the reboot was successful.” she says as a nervous grin grows across her lips, while she continues to decipher the readings.

“And the ark?”

She looks back to him, with a profound sadness in her eyes once more.
