Pulling Teeth – 100 Word Halloween Microfiction Short Story

He lowers the toothbrush and stares at his wayward reflection, as it continues to drive the churning blades of the brush into his bloody gums.

“They called me a fool, misguided by the violence I was brought into this world with, and shunned me from the profession I so loved. They cast me out, humiliated me to no end, and then, when I was all but nothing, they started the cycle again.” he says, staring out from underneath the mask at him.

“W-Why me?” he asks as he tears his eyes away from the mirror, and turns to face him.
