5 Minute Horror Story – Twice Is A Charm – A Short Story From A Twisted Halloween 2021

“I CANT FUCKING BELIEVE THIS!” Marcus bellows, throwing his arms into the air as he launches himself to his feet. “DO YOU EVEN CARE ABOUT THE EFFECT THIS STUPID STUNT OF YOURS HAS CAUSED?”

Carl shrugs his shoulders as he tilts his head to the side. “Sorta.”

Marcus slaps him around the head with a blink and you’d miss it slap that echoes around the room.

“What the FUCK was that for?” Carl cries as he grips his head tightly.

“That was nothing but a starter, and if you don’t UNDERSTAND why you got it, you might need a couple more!” he spits as he raises his hand again.

“OKAY! OKAY!” Carl screams as he holds his hands before him in a pathetic display of self-defence. “I get it okay, I GET IT! We did the wrong thing, and we acted like selfish little children! We didn’t think or even care about the ramifications our actions would have on the feelings of those around us, and I’m deeply sorry for the pain it caused to you.”

Marcus stares down at him with hate filled eyes, his hand still held high ready to strike. “AND?” he growls.

“A-A-And, I’ll pay yo…” he doesn’t get to finish as Marcus strikes him again.

“The KIDS Carl, I’m TALKING about your FUCKING kids! The ones you left heartbroken and orphaned on our doorstep when you two FAKED your FUCKING deaths! Do you even remember THEM!” he snarls as he strikes him several more times before standing over the sobbing Carl, letting out several frustrated breaths before slapping him one last time.

“OKAY YOU’VE MADE YOUR POINT! YOU’VE MADE YOUR POINT!” he cries loudly as he pushes Marcus away.

“My point is far from being made you little PRICK!” Marcus seethes. “I had it all, a life lived by my rules, a sexy woman who put out, cash to spend whoever I wanted anything, the whole FUCKING shebang, and then YOU up and died, leaving me and Karen to care for your kids. Do you know how long it took her to stop putting out and leave me? Three FUCKING day! THREE FUCKING DAYS!”

“LOOK IM SOERY OKAY! IM SORRY!”

“You ain’t FUCKING sorry! You ain’t sorry one little bit. Why don’t you just stop lying, and tell me the real reason you’re here?”

    “I-I-I-I, I told you b-before, I-I’ve come home. I’ve come home to b-be a dad again, t-t…”

    “BULLSHIT!”

“I-I, I swear to whatever you want me to swear to, I’m back for good, a-a-and I wanna make up for everything, t-t-to be a good dad, t…”

Marcus grabs Carl by the collar and pulls him to his feet and trusts him away, sending him careering into the wall. “FUCK YOU CARL! FUCK YOU AND THE HORSE YOU RODE IN ON! YOU AIN’T NO DAD, YOU NEVER HAVE BEEN AND NEVER WILL BE, I’M THEIR DAD, AND YOU AIN’T GETTING NOWHERE NEAR THEM, NOT NOW, NOT EVER!”

Carl snarls, and grins broadly. “They’re my kids, and I’m gonna take them one way or another, and ain’t nothing you can do about it, brother. So tell me now, how the FUCK are you gonna stop me?”

Marcus smiles wryly, “I don’t need to stop you, because you’re already dead, I’ll just mask sure you stay that way.”

“W-W-What the fuck, y-y-you wouldn’t dare?” Carl says as the blood drains from his cheeks as Marcus raises a revolver.

“It’s crazy what a dad will do to protect his kids,” Marcus says as he fires.

5 Minute Horror Story – Lying Truths – A Short Story From A Twisted Halloween 2021

Blake drops to his knees and lets out a stuttered sigh of exhaustion. He casts a wandering glance towards Sydney’s motionless form, allowing his eyes to follow the trail of blood as it runs down the uneven concrete floor, and slowly forms a puddle in the corner. His heart skips momentarily as the thrusting engines of cars as they make their way towards him can be heard in the distance, and he knows now through overwhelming desires that he must fabricate his own reflection of the truth, as no one else will believe him.

“They m-might,” a voice says, as he stares back at Sydney with wide open eyes filled with fear, as she sits cross legged before him with a demented smile upon her face.

“I-I-Is this p-part real?” he stammers nervously.

    “What is real anymore?”

    “S-S-Something has t-to be!”

“Then decided which truth to choose!”

    “I-I-I, I CAN’T KEEP LYING!” he screams.

She tilts her head as the demented smile cascades into a crude grin with her rotting teeth freely displayed. “Once you decided what the truth is you will no longer be lying, and then in that choice you will be free of anymore decisions for the pathway once made only require actions to be followed.”

“B-B-But, I have no co-control over what others see as the truth, and they will know.”

She laughs, “The truth is what we make, and they’ll know nothing more than what you tell them, for you are the only one.”

    “W-W-W-What about y-you?”

He smile grows wider, as it tears the flesh of her cheeks apart. “I am of no danger to you, for WE are partners, you and I.”

    “P-P-Partners?”

“Why else would I let you live? Why else would I offer you my protection?” she awkwardly gets to her feet and jerkily makes her way over to him, holding her hand out for him to take.

He nervously looks up at her as the cars outside come to a screeching halt. “H-H-How can I t-trust you?”

She laughs loudly as the car doors slam and unintelligible yelling filter into the room , “You can’t, but what choice do you have?”

“I-I-I, I can’t.” he seethes with exhausted breath as he drops his head to the ground.

“Then prepare to die! For that will be the case when they storm their way into this room, and see what you have done to their children!”

    “I-I’ll t-tell them the t-truth a-and they’ll u-understand, t-they’ll see h-how sick I am. T-They’ll help me.”he sobs desperately.

“They won’t help YOU! They won’t see YOU! All they’ll see is a murderer, one they’ll know will escape punishment, and in that moment of doubt, I’ll offer them a solution,” she purrs as Blake looks up at her in terror.

    “Y-You would b-betray m-me like t-that?”

Her smile tears further through her flesh as the buildings doors are knocked in and the sound of men charging into the building echo throughout the room. “He who throws the first stone, cannot throw the last,” she sings, extending her hand once again. “Now sweet prince, take my hand and lay your trust in me.”

“P-Please,” he stammers as the rooms door explodes inward and a swam of armed officers spill in.

“F-F-Fuck,” one of the officers stutter at the bloody site that greets them. He looks desperately around the room, meeting each of their wild glares with his own.

“P-P-Please, you have t-to understand w-what h-h-happened. Y-Y-You h…” its then that his words get stuck in his throat, as he notices one of the officers listening intently to someone unseen. “P-P-P-PLEASE, YOU HAVE TO UNDERSTAND!” he screams as he scrambles to his feet, only for gunfire to knock him back down.

He sucks in desperate breath after desperate breath, as an unrelenting pain washes over him in wave after wave.

  • 5 Minute Horror Story – Nightmares Covered In Fondant – A Short Story From A Twisted Halloween 2021

5 Minute Horror Story – Nightmares Covered In Fondant – A Short Story From A Twisted Halloween 2021

He places the phone on the bedside table and pushes his head into the pillow, sinking into it as if it was fluffy sand. For several seconds his eyelids flicker erratically before gently falling shut, and his world is swallowed into darkness. A sea of soft comfortable cushions engulf him while the rhythmic sounds of his wife snoring next to him drowns out the melodic music playing from the television that hangs perilously above the foot of the bed.

Seconds, minutes, and hours mix in a spider-web like blender, drawing him further into a mix of sights seen and unseen. Then with a panicked startle, he leaps up in spot, sweat pouring from him in buckets. His heart pumps vigorously as he gasps desperately for breath after breath, while his wife continues to snore loudly.

He looks around the room with wide awake eyes, searching the darkness for a sign that does not come.

“H-H-Hello?” he stammers nervously, then waits unmoving. As minutes quickly pile up before him with no result, he grits his teeth and squeezes his lips together.

“I-I-I, I know someone’s there, s-s-so STOP p-playing around!” he spits out as he leaps from his bed.

A gentle clapping comes from the darkest corner of the room as he can make out the outline of a shrouded figure.

    “W-W-Who a-are YOU?”

“Does it matter either way, the fact that we can see each other is all as need to know, for that is the thing of dreams.”

“BULLSHIT!” he snarls sharply. “YOU TELL ME WHO THE FUCK YOU ARE, AND WHAT THE FUCKING HELL YOU WANT FROM ME NOW!”

    “Touchy aren’t we.”

“Wouldn’t you be, if you woke up and found some stranger in you’re home?”

“How can you be sure that I am the visitor and not you?”

He laughs softly. “Seriously, are you gonna actually try and convince me that I’m the one shoes dead here?”

“Of course not my friend, I’d never disrespect your journey over mine with lies just for the sake of manipulation, not when reality can do such much more than my simple side step can.”

“What the FUCK does that mean?” he hisses through tightly clenched teeth.

“It means exactly what it was meant to mean Matty! Judge not, or you will be judged. Anyway I could manipulate any and all to achieve my ends, but why do something for fun, when the magic of today can achieve all that and more,” he sniggers as the figure leans from out of the darkness, revealing his face to be empty. Matty takes a

succession of quick breaths as a demented grin slowly draws itself across the blank face.

“W-W-What’s s-so sp-special abo…” his nervous words find themselves caught in his throat as visions of calendar’s fill the air before him while the eerie voice cackles like a maniac.

Matt’s eyes shoot open and he launches himself up, looking around the room in a heightened panic. As his heart thumps furiously in his chest, his lungs pump vigorously, ejecting breath after wasted breath while he desperately gasps for there replacement. As the morning rays of the sun cut through the rooms darkness like a knife, his breaths slow to a slow and steady rhythms, which in turn cools the fires of his heart and he collapses back, and stares with widening eyes into the long dead eyes of his lover, and before he can scream her decaying hand covers him mouth and punches him nose.

He kicks and heaves, trying desperately to free himself from her long dead clutches, but her grip is too strong and he begins to feel his lungs burning as they call for air. He reaches out and grabs at his sleeping wife who thrusts his hands away, mumbling something incoherent at him before turning away and covering her head with the blanket.

He looks back up into her empty eyes, while tears stream down his as the darkness slowly creeps in, and once again he hears the cackling laugh of his strange visitor.

“Judge not, for thee will be judged yourself Matty me old mate!”

  • 5 Minute Horror Story – The Impairment Deal – A Short Story From A Twisted Halloween 2021

5 Minute Horror Story – The Impairment Deal – A Short Story From A Twisted Halloween 2021

Luke looks down at the paper and awkwardly plays with the pen as he reads the words once again before looking back up at Damien with a nervous expression across his face.

“What is it that trouble you?” Damien asks as he smiles and furrows his brow with concern. “Tell me and I will ease your quandary.”

Luke bits his bottom lip as the words try to form inside his mind, but all he manages to do is drop the pen to the floor in spectacular fashion.

Damien’s smile broadens and he laughs softly, “It is okay to be frightened, not everyone gets this experience, and those that have tread with the same trepidation you are now tasked with. So, ask away before you don’t have the opportunity to do so again.”

Luke lets out a stuttered sigh and places his head in his hands. “W-W-Why me?” he asks nervously.

“Why not you, that should be the question asked of the others, but not asked of it yourself.”

“I-I-I, I don’t get it,” he says with raised brow.

Damien laughs softly once again. “Tell me what part you don’t get, and I will try and fill in the holes.”

“All of it, every single piece. I just don’t get it at all.”

He laughs louder this time and casually sits on the corner of the table. “You’re going to need a little more structure to that question if you want some sort of answer, because there is the long version or the really, really, really condensed version, and neither of those answer the question you really want to ask. Take advantage of where we are, for here we have plenty of time, and there is no need to rush what does not move, so go back to the drawing board and ask again, ask again and I will answer.”

Luke squelches his lips together and closes an eye as he searches his mind for the words he needs to structure the question he wants to ask, suddenly he sits up straight with a wide eyed wonder and tilts his head slightly to the side. “What doesn’t move?”

Damien’s smile transitions into a wild grin. “Time Lucas, time does not move, not here anyway,” he says as he gestures around them.

    “W-W-What’s so special a-about h-here?”

Damien leans in towards him. “I’ll tell you a secret,” he whispers as he looks around the room playfully before leaning back in towards Luke, “it’s not really HERE that’s so special.”

Luke stares at him for a few moments as his brow furrows downward, then he jerks upward and smiles broadly. “Is it ME!” he asks excitedly. “Can I stop time?”

Damien laughs hysterically, slapping his leg with delight. “YOU!” he roars gleefully. “HAVE YOU EVER STOPPED TIME BEOFRE?”

“N-N-N-No,” Luke stammers as his cheeks glow brightly. “B-B-But if y-y-your not talking a-about me, w-w-who are yo-you talking about?”

“ME!” Damien bellows. “IT’S BLOODY WELL ME! I STOPPED TIME!”

    Luck smiles smugly, “Bullshit.”

Damien’s brow conclaves into itself, and stares deathly at him. “Why the NOT can’t it be me?”

“B-Because well, you’re you!” he says.

Damien’s face twists up with rage as the very sky turns black. “DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND WHO I AM!” he screams as lightning plows from the skies and strikes the ground around then. “DO YOU…” and then Damien stops in his tracks and the skies clear as quickly as they darkened, and he stands before the quivering Luke with rosy red cheeks. “I-I-I’m sorry, I totally forget myself sometimes. You get used to people KNOWING who YOU are regardless of the clothes you wear, and you forget sometimes that not everyone can see your TRUE form,” he says as he unzips Damien like a suit, and steps out in all his glowing glory.

“O-Oh m-my G-G-G-God,” Luke stammers as he falls to his knees.

“Close enough,” Damien says with a wry smile upon his blackened lips.

  • 5 Minute Horror Story – He Who Can Be King – A Short Story From A Twisted Halloween 2021

5 Minute Horror Story – He Who Can Be King – A Short Story From A Twisted Halloween 2021

Bray drips to his knees and stretches his arms out wide as he arches his head backwards peering into the sky with eyes wild.

“You call me home while I cannot be found, yet I see the doorway that should not be. Forsake a pathway beneath the sin, yet I regret nothing, slender hands around my flesh, thrusting upwards, my seed is planted in the moistness of thy lips,” he snarls with a wicked smile as he casts his deranged vision back to the bloody face of Sharon and Ikisa. “Harlots one and all, the devils work done and won, my sin aplenty, my beanies none.” he gyrates as he forces himself to his feet tall while still holding his arms out. His nakedness now fully on display, as his wasted seed drips from the end of his flaccid cock.

“You fornicate without purpose, yet expect an army to surround you, what do you want from life if it is not to further your gene pools existence?” Heart prods as he looks down into the pit with stoic presence.

Bray smiles and spins around as he slaps his hairy bare bosom. “You stand up there with a mouth dirty as sin, afraid to venture down because of what I would put in, maggot of virtue, prince of bed wetting liars, come down here and taste me, I’ll be gentle I promise,” he retorts with a wicked grin upon his lips.

Heart points a thrusting finger towards him. “I will not grant you favour, and I will not be dragged into this ridiculous game. When dawn makes its mark on the area, you will be put to death. So run while you can gingerbread man, for running is all you ha…” he doesn’t get to finishing his words of larceny as a blade cuts his arm from his shoulder, as it drops into the pit below. Heart finds no scream able to escape his frozen throat as he moves his gaze from the jets of red that shoot from his arm to that of his attacker. His mouth drops open and his eyes widen as he locks eyes with his son Jacob.

“M-M-My s-son w-what have you done?” he stammers.

“I have done what must be done, for the betterment of my child,” Jacob says as Heart’s eyes move from his son’s eyes and down to his engorged stomach.

“The seed planted in the many and the more, the fathers and sons, the mothers and daughters, the sin and the sun, I am more and I am wonderful.” Bray says proudly as he slaps his bosom once more, while his other hand strokes his erect penis.

“M-M-May whatever d-devil hold j-judgment over y-y-you, s-see you in-unworthy w-w-when yo-your to…” he doesn’t get to finish his words as Jacob slices the blade through his neck, separating his head from his shoulders. The world spins violently as his head tumbles into the pit, followed quickly by his decapitated body. And as the darkness creeps in to drag him away he is pulled high into the air by the cackling Bray, before he thrusts his cock into Heart’s mouth.

  • 5 Minute Horror Story – Danny Long Legs – A Short Story From A Twisted Halloween 2021

5 Minute Horror Story – Danny Long Legs – A Short Story From A Twisted Halloween 2021

“Well I’ll be hogtied, it’s Danny Long Legs!” he says as a twinkle glimmers in his eyes and a soft smile draws itself across his wrinkled lips as he looks over the photograph that Clare passed him.

    “D-D-Danny Long Legs?”

“Yup! We used to sing songs about him when we were kids, not that D-Danny Long Legs w-was his real name, it’s just what we called him back in the day on account of his long legs.” Harry says as he hands the photo back to Marilyn with a shaking hand. “To be true I don’t think I ever knew his real name, but he can’t be your guy because Danny’d be dead by now, so I’m sorry you made the trip all the way up here.”

Clare looks down at the photo and bites her bottom lip, then looks up at Harry once again. “What if I told you this photo was taken last week.”

Harry looks at her a chuckles softly, “I’d still say it’s not Danny, he looked like that when I was a kid, so maybe he’s a grand child, or some close cousin, but there’s no way it’d be Danny for that to be him, he’d need to be at least a hundred and fifty years old, and lady time I heard that’s impossible, not looking like that anyway.”

“B-But what if it was him, what he was even older than one-hundred and fifty years, or even two-hundred! What then?”

“Then I’d be telling you that you’re the one that needs to be in one of these places instead of me.” he scoffs as he thrusts a thumb over his shoulder with a playful wink.

“T-Tell me about the song you used to s-sing as a k-kid?” she asks nervously.

“It was just a song, the kind kids sing to make fun of other kids.” he grunts as he forces himself to his feet uneasily. ”It won’t solve any mysteries for you Clare, it’ll just open new ones, so stop looking for answers in the past, because they ain’t there. Now if you don’t mind, I-I-I, I have to have my afternoon nap, you’ll understand you’re my age,” he says as he turns and shuffles away.

“Danny, Danny, crawling on the wall. Danny, Danny, taller than tall. Danny, Danny, under your bed. Danny, Danny, he’ll make you dead!” Clare coarsely sings off-key. Harry stops in his tracks and slowly turns back to her, his eyes bright and alive once more as they dance with energy.

“I knew he’d come back one day! I-I-I, I told Duncan, I told him that he was just sleeping, that he wasn’t really dead.” Harry says excitedly as he scrambles back and snatches the photo from her hands. “Was this taken down at the old mill, or at the toy factory?”

She stares at him for a few moments, almost dumb founded by the questions as her bottom lip trembles and her gaze moves past him.

He slaps her across the arm with the photo, “Come on girl, don’t come all this way and get my hopes up just to clam up in the end game. Where is the devil?”

“I-I-I, I never sh-should’ve c-come, I-I-I, I led him to you,” she says as she looks at Harry, terror written across her face. “T-T-The so-song, I-it wasn’t the k-kids who sang it, w-was it?” she asks nervously, but she needed wait for Harry to answer as the light flicker and a raspy voice starts singing. “Danny, Danny, crawling on the wall. Danny, Danny, taller than tall. Danny, Danny, under your bed. Danny, Danny, he’ll make you dead!”

  • 5 Minute Horror Story – Deadman’s Grip – A Short Story From A Twisted Halloween 2021

    5 Minute Horror Story – Deadman’s Grip – A Short Story From A Twisted Halloween 2021

“And they say to this day, in the dead of night when the moon is at its highest peak, you can still here his cries, and some have even told stories of meetings made between them and the Baron himself,” Stolzen says with a wry smile across his lips, as he looks around the campfire at the others, until his eyes fall upon as set his is unfamiliar with. He pulls his head back and twists his jaw in contemplation.

“A charming story I must say, but you left out so many juicy pieces of the overall puzzle that what you hold before us is a bland colourless version instead of the utopia we sought and were promised,” the man says with a stony gaze, and chiseled jaw.

Stolzen laughs nervously as he breaks out in a cold sweat, “Y-Y-You come for t-the smile b-but e-end up staying f-f-for the r-r-roast beef.” he stammers as he looks around at the sea of eyes that stare towards the interloper with curious intent .

“I’m not going to even pretend to understand what you just said, as it makes little to no sense on any level. All I will say on any matter that is left to discuss is how epic this all feels, and poignant it seems that you were to discuss such fancifully things while introducing everyone to my land.” he says with a confidence that oozes from each word.

“T-T-This land b-belong to no one, and th-the stories I j-just told are on-onl…” his words find themselves lost in his throat as the stranger smiles broadly seconds before the campfire is swallowed by the very ground itself.

“This land, is MY LAND! AND MY REACH IS FAR GRANDER THAN THAT OF STORIES, FOR I AM THE HYRDA AND THE OMEGA!” he roars as the very earth beneath them trembles while the others scream in terror.

Stolzen thrusts himself quickly to his feet a pulls his revolver free as week as a torch, shining it to where the strange sat moments ago, only to now find the bloody corpse of one of his men. He arches up and forwards, sweeping the area before him with the torches light, passing over body after body of his soldiers until he finally comes to a stop upon the huddled mass of the stranger as he crouched over a withering captive. Without a moment of contemplation her squeezes the trigger and drills do shots into the figures back, but it fields no results.

He squeezes again, emptying the remainder of the guns clip into the strangers back, but it still doesn’t persuade him to leave, in fact it only seemed to encourage his attack, as he drops the lifeless corpse and roses slowly to his feet.

As he turns to face Stolzen he wipes the sea of red that is painted across his face, and smiles a mouth full of pointy white teeth while proudly striding towards him.

“The tales tell of so many things, so many deeds done without remorse, so many lives drained away and taken proudly. All these stories and all these deaths, yet you seem to have learnt nothing but ignorance from the source material. No valued piece of information, no nugget of gold that houses my undoing. You are an…” He stops in his tracks as his brow furrows and his lips twitch. “Why do you smile when faced with defeat?” he asks curiously of the smiling Stolzen.

“Because it is you who has underestimated me, for there is no life worth rise of my family, not even my own, especially when it has already began to expire.” he says with a nervous grin as he proudly raises his hand to reveal a dead man’s switch tightly under his grip.

The strangers nose twitches and his eyes open wide with surprise. “I-I-I, I can smell your cancer from here.”

“And I can smell your urine!” he says he releases his grip.

  • 5 Minute Horror Story – Black Tie And Cocktail Shoes – A Short Story From A Twisted Halloween 2021

5 Minute Horror Story – Black Tie And Cocktail Shoes – A Short Story From A Twisted Halloween 2021

Kiefer blinks several lazy times before his iris dilate in the darkness that grips at his sides. Suddenly his world heaves forward and arches upwards as it begins to spins in an uneasy twisting movement while the silence slowly finds itself drowned out by distorted reverberations of a guitar being strummed. With a whimsical expression on his face, his eyelids fall heavily over his glassy stare as the music sends him comfortably off to sleep, but as a smile softly grows across his lips a sharp note cuts through the peacefulness and his bloodshot eyes shoot open with abject horror.

A woman grips his hand tightly, as he stares in disoriented rage around the room, staring into faces of people he knows he should somehow know, but their names and identities don’t reveal themselves to him.

“K-Kiefer, i-it’s okay, we’re all here for you just like you wanted us to, just like a r-real family,” she says as she looks to the others and then back to him, tears streaming down her cheeks.

“W-W-What’s bloody wrong with you!” he scoffs as he pulls his hand away from her, and stares with a twisted nose towards the others. “And w-what the BLOODY HELL a-a-are you all s-staring at! C-Can’t a man die alone in peace?”

She reaches out for him again, trying to grab his hands while he tries in vain to avoid her. “You lost that right long ago old man, haven’t you heard the news?”

“BAH TO THE NEWS!” he bellows as he throws his arms in the air and brushes her hands away once more. “C-Can’t you see the TRUTH! C-Can’t you see through their LIES! I’m already dead, they’re just keeping me alive until I haven’t any strength left to fight the demons away!” he spits with venomous intent, while a thick froth forms in the corners of his mouth.

    “P-Please, let u…”

    “AWAY WITH YOU!” he bellows.

One of the men launches themselves  to their feet and sticks his chest out as a frown cuts itself across his lips. “SEE! SEE! I TOLD YOU THIS WAS A MISTAKE!” he shouts as he points a thrusting finger towards Kiefer. “I KNEW HE COULDN’T CHANGE, NOT EVEN ON HIS DEATH BED! NOT YOU! SHIT CAN BE COVERED AND BURIED, BUT IT’S STILL FUCKING SHIT!”

“S-SEBASTIAN!” She snaps, as she casts a deathly glance towards him.”Remember why we’re here!” she hisses through clenched teeth as she turns back to Kiefer, and grips his hand tightly once more while Sebastian throws himself back into his seat, gruffly folding his arms across his chest.

“I-I-I, I d-don’t k-know you p-people! W-W-Who in the g-god damn hell are y-you, and why a-are you s-stopping me from DYING!” he says with wide panicked eyes, as Fiona’s grip tightens and a wry grin slowly creeps onto her lips.

“Look harder Kiefer. Look into the eyes of us all, and tell each one of us that you don’t know who we are! Tell us you have forgotten your victims, because we sure as SHIT haven’t forgotten you?” She snarls through rotten teeth.

“F-Fiona?” he stammers as she gently nods her head.

“There you go,” she says smugly.

    “B-B-But yo-you can’t be h-here, n-not now, I-I-I, I’m no-not ready to g-go yet.”

“A minute ago you wanted to just die in peace, and now you’re not ready to go, make up your mind!” Sebastian playfully.

“I-I-I, I wanna go back!” Kiefer quips quickly as tears well up in his eyes as he stares around the room at the all too familiar faces. “I DON’T WANNA DIE! I DON’T WANNA DIE!” he screams as he suddenly finds himself standing a few feet away from his motionless body as it lies strapped down on the execution table, as the warden fells once more for a pulse.

“Time of death,” the warden says as he looks up at Kiefer and grins. “NOW!” he snarls as everything goes black.

“I didn’t say there wouldn’t be a price, I just failed to mention what it woul…”

“YOU SAID THERE WERE RISKS ASSOCIATED, BUT THE FORTUNE WOILD HE UNCOUNTABLE! THAT’S IT! COMPLETE AND FROM YOUR MOUTH, OR DO I NEED TO REPLAY THE WHOLE CONVERSATION AGAIN?” Tyler bellows as he holds a small device high into the air as if it was trophy.

Marx sneers, “Fucking technology has ruined unsubstantiated double-crosses for far too long,” he snarls through a thinly veiled grin. “What’s the point of it anyway, we both know I killed Farah and Douglas, what’s one more enemy planted into the past? What’s gonna stop me from slitting your throat and taking everything for myself?”

Tyler smiles broadly as he playfully winks at him, “The same but of technology that started this conversation.”

“Who you gonna show when you’re tied up in a hole somewhere and that little device is in a million pieces?”

“I don’t need to show anyone anything cause the whole world is already watching, it’s called the World Wide Web, s-surely ev-even someone a-a-as…” his words trip over themselves as Marx’s grin widens from ear to ear. “W-W-What s-so f-f-funny?” he asks nervously.

“What’s funny is that you think you’re the only one with all the toys, have you ever stopped to wonder why no one has called you to see how the plan has worked out?”

Taylor tosses the Manila folder to the bench top and stoically digs his fits into his hips before letting out a lengthy hiss of frustration. “THIS IS BULLSHIT!” he spits as he turns to face Carson. “I just can’t believe that this thing slithered up the side of the building, then forced its way in through the window, on the forty-second level mind you, killed thirteen highly trained security guards just so it could torture Sullivan uninterrupted for hours, before killing him and pinning him up on the wall like an artist would their paintings.”

Carson remains silent for a few moments before gripping his overly hairy chin and squeezing it in rhythmic motion. “All the evidence points to exactly that scenario taking place, even the security images corroborate it, so what makes you not?”

“Everything else. Sure, the evidence all points to the likely scenario happening, but the gut,” he says as he slaps his sigh an open hand. “The gut doesn’t agree, the gut says something else happened and Sullivan was a patsy who was used as a coverup, or red herring if you must.”

“A red herring? Aren’t you’re being a little over dramatic?” Carson scoffs.

“Over dramatic got lost when that thing slithered up the fucking side of the building, I’m just going with the flow now!”

    “Does it matter?”

Silva pulls an awkward face while he scratches his head vigorously. “I guess if it’s drawing from the source material it should, right?”

“Fucked if I have any clue about what the procedures are when reimagining SHIT like this, does the source material even say what side it’s on?”

“According to the studio you’re the so-called expert, so you should already know that answer.”

“If I knew, I’d know. But before you start dropping all the blame on my shoulders I like to remind you that you’re the one who got all excited with the idea of taking such a time savvy approach to this classic touting an in-depth knowledge of not only the story, but also the apparent undercurrent that I still think doesn’t exist, so perhaps you should also already know what side his FUCKING eye-patch is ON!” Silva says as he erratically gesturing at most of the inanimate objects in the room before turning back to Fletch,  dropping his shoulders and crossing his arms across his chest like a rapper who just dropped the mic in the middle of a fierce rap battle.

“No need to be a tool about it, we are on the same side, REMEMBER!”

“Then why’re you trying to send me over the edge with this waste of time shtik?”

“What THE FUCK am I doing that’s anywhere associated with sending you over the edge?”

“Everything and nothing, that’s the point.”

“W-Who or what is Pete?” Shawn asks with surprise.

“Yeah Pete, or crispy Pete as I like to call him now, the twat from number six who felt up Amy.” he replies nonchalantly while throwing a thumb over his shoulder and gesturing it down the hallway behind them.

Shawn stares at Kevin for several long moments before he smiles nervously and points a trembling finger at him. “Y-You know, you a-almost had me t-there.”

Kevin’s eyes widen broadly as he cringes. “What would I possibly gain from getting you?”

A few more moments of silence drift between the two whilst they share another uncomfortable stares, before Kevin leans back onto his heels and places a blood-soaked sponge back in the bucket of soapy water. “Let’s not forget who asked who to help dispose of the body, because if I have to push back up to management I will.”

The flames shoot high into the air, and Michael smiles like a fucking idiot. He turns and looks at me, and winks before blowing me a kiss. It all happened before I realised it was happening, my left fist was meeting with his teeth and my right was squeezing his tiny fucking knob.

The first bullet scraped the side of my scone, while the next two firmly played themselves into my side, one expertly exploding my kidney like a fucking water ballon.

The ground was my friend way sooner than I had expected it to be quickly followed by a void of nothing. I stood around, naked and alone, fuck the world had suddenly turned into a normal Friday night.

Just as I was starting to get the groove of this new world some weird piece of shit started coming up out of the ground, spooked the absolute shit out of me. The latex like floor grabbed whatever was beneath it, and the thing turned into a chick with all the right curves in all the wrong places. She strutted her way towards my naked arse, not a eye or other distinguishable facial features. I caught a breath as she raised a delicately weapon like arm my way just as a warmth of something completely unexpected washed over me and I found myself strapped to a fucking chair, and then pain exploded across every inch of what I am as a spark ignited.

Gerald gestures towards Keith, and then back to himself, smiling broadly as he does. “You know we’re connected, you and I are like brothers,” he sings as he slaps a cigarette packet against his palm, and skilfully catches a cigarette as it shoots out of the torn hole in the packets corner. “We just reversed our trajectories is all, I came out of my mum’s cunt, while you came in it,” he sneers as the flame to his lighter burns brightly to life with a flick of the flint.

Keith smiles nervously, “W-W-We’re not re-really going t-to do this r-right now, a-are we?”

Gerald takes a long drag on his cigarette and locks eyes with Keith as he holds the breath in for dramatic pause, then with a playful wink blows the lungs worth of smoke into his face. “Why not now, it’s the perfect place, the epicentre you could say,” Gerald says, as he winks once again.

Keith’s face twists, and his lips roll across each other like a boat on a sea. “We ain’t no FUCKING epicentre you fool, we’re two idiots with a side hustle that’s gone wrong. We’re marked by the devil himself, and he’s collecting. We are FUCKED, and you want to talk about how I painted your mum’s face with my CUM! Is that what you REALLY want to do right now?”

Gerald opens his jacket to show a growing red stain. “Yeah, yeah I think NOW is the perfect time.”

The floor hums with the vibrant energy that once coursed through Sammy’s being while the sea of reds touch grows grander with each passing moment.

Stewart crouches beyond the puddles reach and studies Sammy’s motionless form, then looks up at Karver with a raised eyebrow. “Splat!” he says sharply as the other eyebrow rises to meet the first. “I thought you had some big shot degree from the city?”

Karver smiles smugly, “Maybe I’m dumbing myself down for my audience.”

Stewart looks back at what’s left of Sammy. “You ain’t that clever.”

A sneer draws itself across Karver’s lips. “If I’m not that smart, why the FUCK did you ask me to come oversee the crime scene with you?” he snarls.

“You playing up to the audience now?” Stewart scoffs. “And to be correct, I never said you weren’t smart, I just said you ain’t that clever. I guess judging from your reaction I’m on the money and you know it,” he says as he slaps his hands together as he gets to his feet. “And the reason I called you here isn’t because I felt the need to, it’s because whoever did this asked me to,” he says as they both look to the ceiling above Sammy’s corpse where Kavar’s name is written in blood across it.

“Extinct as well I’m afraid,” Carl says with an uneasy smile as he refills Jefferson’s glass.

His eyes widen and his lips are shaken then stirred by a nervous twitch that run across them while the blood quickly exits his face.  “B-Bullshi..” he doesn’t get to finish his words as Carl strikes him across the face with a hearty slap that adds splashes of colours to his vision.

“I will NOT sit here and have you talk at me like some piece of FILTH! We are human beings, the top of the food chain, the ultimate survivor in perpetual form. Let us not sully these foothills with the tongues of savages long gone.”

Jefferson stares at him with hate filled eyes as he gently rubs his cheek while his tongue finds a freshly tapped river of red that has just opened to occupy itself with, darting in and stealing some of the liquid gold then quickly returning it to the source.

“We cannot all be so high and mighty like you cousin. But take heed and remember, the gutter is from where we all came, and the gutter is where we all eventually fall.”

“The gutters owe us nothing, as do I you. Now be gone, leave my site and return from whence you came before I remove you from the chain permanently.”

Jefferson smiles broadly. “Through what you done, and all you’ve told me of our connection, wouldn’t killing me also wipe you from existence?”

The torch light shines pasts the thousands of decaying eyes that follow their every move, and shakily falls upon a small trickle of water that runs down a corner of the building. Theodore looks at the overly smug Ricardo, and then back to the focal point of the torches light.

“I-I-I, I don’t see it,” he says as he blinks repeatedly, before rubbing his eyes and staring with far more commitment than he know he should be placing in this desperate gamble that shows no fortitude or success.

Ricardo sighs loudly, then thrusts the torch as if it was a stick towards the puddle that has now formed at the base of the wall.

“Are you FUCKING telling me you CAN’T see that FUCKING POND!”

Theodore laughs nervously, gesturing towards the torch’s destination. “That’s hardly a pond Rich, it’s m…” he doesn’t get to finish his sarcastic barrage as Ricardo knocks him to the ground with a powerful left hook.

    “EVERYTHING!” he snarls.

As she crosses her arms her smile grows and she leans back in her seat. “Honey you’re gonna have to be a WHOLE lot clearer than EVERYTHING, because all I’m hearing right now is that you’re unhappy you don’t have a vagina,” she says as she leans forward. “And sugar, they have a operation that fix that,” she says, each of her words laced with sarcasm.

Silas slowly creeps over to Robbie’s side, and flexes his finger like an insect wiggling it’s legs then reaches gently for the bucket, before snatching it from Robbie’s hands.

“Children,” he hisses through clenched lips as he shakes his head in disappointment. “The sprout must be given life through love and nurture, not with violent assaults that leave it near death each and every time you touch it!” he growls then looks over to the withered plant and cups it’s fragile frame in his free hand. “Hush my little one, he knows not what he does.”

“P-Please,” Robbie stammers. “P-P-Please give me another c-chance, I-I-I promise I’ll d-do better this time!”

Silas looks down at him with a screwed up face, before he pulls the plant from the pot and tosses it across the yard, with a thud it hits the dry brick wall, and drops to the ground in a lifeless heap. Robbie’s eyes dart back from the plant and into Silas’s hate filled eyes.

“You will do better, or I will toss you to the side next time,” he hisses as he folds his arms across his chest and stands sternly over Robbie.
