Three Heads, A Shotgun And A Duffel Bag – Twisted Microfiction 2020TOO

….“That’s when I awoke from the dream that had been my life, and saw through new eyes, eyes that had seen this moment of clarity, and I knew then and there, that there was more for me than just what I had.” he says as he rifles around in the duffel bag that sits open before him. “After that I swore I wouldn’t waste another day, and waste it I didn’t. Although it took me a long time to find out what I was good at, it took me even longer to make it all my life was about. But it happened, and I got better day by day.”

“Y-You call this better?”

He smiles half-heartedly as he looks up from the nag while he continues to rummages around in it.”It’s a hell of a lot better than what I was doing before all this.” he scoffs as he looks back down at the bag with a bemused smile across his face, laughing softly. “Imagine if I’d continued along the path I thought was mine, imagine where I’d be and what I’d be doing.”

“You’d probably still be right there, doing exactly the same thing you’re doing now, just not with the same sarcastic tone….”

  1. Are you getting writing prompts from somewhere? Or are you just creating these? Either way they’re all really good and I could some of them becoming full length stories. Maybe a collection of short stories one day?
