For I Wait In The Valley, Where I Fear No Evil

 Before the end began,

there was only I,

everything,

was mine,

as far as my eyes could see,

as vast as my imagination allowed,

but then they came,

vicious little things,

they wanted what was mine,

ravishing the lands,

taking,

insects devouring a rich,

ripe peach,

I fought them,

I killed thousands,

but still more came,

until all I could do was run,

and wait,

for them to eventually turn upon themselves.

  1. Guarding that peach is a strenuous activity. Excellent imagery as always.

    1. Thanks so much, I was after some metaphor, peach seamed perfect, because they can be rotten at the core, yet still seem perfect
