A Simplification Of My Nightmare

Soil on my hands,

reaching beneath my nails,

pensive is my soul,

retreating in,

avoiding my sin,

forgetting my deeds,

erasing my past,

a sovereign of man,

a splinter of hope,

the spoils of war,

are not what I hoped,

my cries in the night,

my tears soak my bed,

my kingdom,

my freedom,

is not what was said,

now the war is over,

I fight who I am instead.

    1. Thanks so much, I try to use the words like a painter would use a brush, sadly sometimes I’m the only one who can see the image before me.
