I entered a short story competition that required me to write a 100 word short story in 24 hours. The story needed to meet three things, a theme (Comedy), a situation (Climbing a Mountain) and a word that needed to be used (Radar). It took me a while to find the right idea, and get it to work in a way I was happy with, but that’s not saying I didn’t enjoy the process, and the stories that didn’t make the cut. So, for the sake of creativity, here is the rejected 100 word stories I wrote..

Clear My Pathways
Clarion tumbles down the mountain side carving a path of destruction, which comes to its inevitable end at the bottom of a small ravine, one that would forever mask his final resting place from even the most advanced radar systems available.
In the darkness, something grasps him beneath the flesh and begins to pull him downward.
He lets out a half empty cry of desperation, but he knows how deep the depravities of existence goes, and knows the hopelessness of his cries.
It’s then a sharp pain tears through everything he is, as his soul is pulled from his carcass.
