A Misstep To The Left – 100 Word Microfiction Short Story

The story needed to meet three things, a genre (Sci-Fi), an event (Seeing a rainbow) and to use a certain word (Micro). It took me a while to find the right idea and to get it to work in a way I was happy with. But like the last time I entered something similar, I enjoyed the desire to find the story that sparked the right way for me. So, for the sake of creativity, here is 1 of the 24 rejected stories in a 100 word format..

“Hush little baby, don’t say a word, momma’s gonna break you in FUCKING HALF!” her mirror image screams, as she craws across the ground like a giant insect, lunging herself on top of Helen, who cries out in terror.
“WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?”
“Unicorns that shit rainbows, puppy dog tails and cat guts! I want what every micro manager wants, I wanna be top dog, I want control!” she hisses with a wide-eyed grin.
“Control?”
