Words Written On A Headstone

You asked for my hand,

you pledged until the end,

you smiled and you danced,

you keep me bound in your trance,

but what a fool was I,

to think you could be forever mine,

you use me up,

and toss me away,

like a burnt out cigarette,

in a dirty old astray,

but I’m not as weak,

as you thought I was,

the first slash of my blade taught you that,

now say it again,

and this time make me believe,

tell me you love me,

till the end,

and beyond.
