Frozen Tears – Unhinged Poem 2020TOO

A frozen winter,

waves within the sea,

last rites given,

a widow behind me,

a broken heart cut in two,

as the devil asked of me,

a bet,

a payment,

a deal wagered in the wisdom of tomorrow,

resistant was not my game,

he severed the connection,

remade my shape,

flesh roasted on the skin of another,

showered in sleep,

I was awake,

yet no name was given,

I took the wager,

even though I was wrong,

open,

look,

suffocate the end,

and hope it was,

or not…
