Day 143 Daily Prompt – Graceful – 50 Word Story Expanded

“Now, can you tell the detective what you told me ma’am,” the officer says.

She looks over to the detective, and clears her throat, “Like I said, it was about fifteen minutes before I heard her scream, and there was this guy, dancing on her balcony, all graceful and shit.”

    “Dancing?”

“Yeah, like he was on one of those TV shows. You know the dancing one, with all those washed up wanna be stars who need to be relevant again so they go on that show and hope everyone will remember who they were and they’ll be back in the limelight.”

“Okay, you’ve lost me, what?” The detective says.

“It’s okay sir, I know what she’s talking about, ballroom dancing.”

“Yeah, like I said, graceful and shit.”

“Do you think if I had a profiler sit with you, you’d be able to help get a composite sketch of the dancer made?”

“No way, dude was dancing up a storm. I was too busy watching his feet, than his face, I love those shows, but he was old, like in his fifties, maybe older. That I’m sure of,” she says with a beaming smile.

“Okay, thanks for your help Samantha, if we need any more information someone will be in contact,” the detective says before he heads back to the crime scene, the officer following closely behind.

“So, you think it’s the same guy?”

“Everything else fits, accept the dancing and that a victim isn’t missing their kidney, but I’d say being interrupted caused that slip up.”

“Maybe the dancing has always been a part of his routine, we’ve never had an eyewitness before.”

“Maybe, we’ll know more when forensics gets here, maybe he left a clue, it’s not as pristine as the other scenes, this could be the one. We should also cross reference all the victims and see if any of them had some sort of connection to ballroom dancing, actually make it any sort of dancing, just to be safe.” The detective says.

Samantha closes the door of her apartment behind her and smiles, “They won’t bother us, I’ve made sure of it,” she says.

“I don’t know how to show my appreciation, if they’d found me there tonight, I would’ve certainly been blamed for her murder. What did you tell them?”

“Told them I saw some old dude dancing on her balcony a few minutes before I heard her scream, they ate it up.”

He smiles, “Dancing? Really? And they brought it, amazing,” he says as he walks over to the window and peers out, across the court yard, at the flashing lights and laughs. “Truly, I don’t know how to thank you, it will be of course, such a shame.”

    “Sorry? I don’t follow.”

“Of course you don’t,” he says as he backhands her to the ground, her eyes widen in horror as she realises her mistake, as his pretty smile, is soon replaced by a twisted, evil snarl and he soon has his hands around her throat.

“You don’t fit my profile, but I have to eat, and sometimes the closest meal is the best!” He says as her cold, dead eyes stare back at him.

  • Day 143 – Was It Any Good? – Short Story

Day 143 – Was It Any Good? – Short Story

“On the darkest night, spirits take to flight, coming for your soul, so watch out kids, young an old, because the beast will smell your sin,” he says proudly, she sits across from him, blinking a couple of times and stares at him. “Well, don’t just sit there saying nothing, what did you think?”

“Ummm, well…. It’s just…. I mean it’s…. It can’t… I think you need help,” she says, smiling awkwardly, as she twists and squeezes her fingers together.

“Besides that, did you think it was any good?”

“It’s not my sort of thing Kyle, I’m not into the weird stuff, you should ask Terry.”

“Fuck Terry, I’m asking you, was it any good or not?”

“Yeah, I guess so, I mean it seemed scary, and you told it really well. But, like I said, I just don’t really care for scary stuff.”

“Seriously, your just avoiding telling me it’s shit aren’t you?” he says as he throws himself onto the floor in a heap, and lets out a loud, and long sigh of frustration.

“No, honestly Kyle, it was good, really, but I’m just not into that stuff, honest to god, or whatever else you want me to swear to, it was good, really!” She says as she flops onto the floor beside him, grabbing him by his wrist and shaking them.

“You’re just saying that now, because you feel bad.”

“Of course I feel bad, I didn’t mean for you to take it the way you have and I feel terrible, it wasn’t the way I wanted you to take it, even though I knew you would. It was good, really it was, it’s just not my sort of thing, you know that. I mean, how long have you know me and how many times have I bailed on movie night because you pick some shitty horror?”

“Yeah I guess your right, maybe I should ask Terry, he’s into the same sort of style, it’s just, I don’t trust him as much as I trust you, I know you’d be honest with me, tell me if I was making a huge mistake. Terry, he’ll encourage you, even if he thinks it stupid, just so he can laugh at you later.”

“Well, ask someone else, ask that guy from the comic book store, the one who’s always wearing those death metal t-shirts, Thraxton, or whatever his name is.”

    “You men Jaxon?”

“Yeah, that’s his name, Jaxon, ask him, he’s into this stuff, why not ask him?”

“Because he’s nuts, I only talk to him at the book store because if I didn’t he probably wait for me after work and beat the fuck out of me and then fuck my skull.”

“Come on, he not that crazy, he seemed perfectly normal to me when I met him.”

“You met him at an all-night rave, while you were half spaced on Xanax and PHP, of course he seemed normal. That’s probably why you sucked his cock that night as well.”

“I though you weren’t going to bring that up again?”

“You were the one who opened that can of worms, not me, I just pointed out why you would’ve though he was normal. Besides, I didn’t see you two hooking up after that night again, so there must be something wrong with him.”

“Well, the fact he’s old enough to be my father was the first thing I noticed, and anyway, we were talking about your story, not my dating habits.”

“You were the one who brought him up,” he says as he flashes her a wry smile.

“I know, and I regret it,” she replies, punching him in the arm. “Can’t we talk about something else, something interesting?”

“What else interesting is there? We’ve talked about everything else we ever could over the last few weeks, and, well, the longer we wait, the less time we have, so, if you don’t want to talk about my obituary what else can we talk about?”

Day 142 Daily Prompt – Test – 50 Word Story Expanded

“I don’t know, should we really be down here?”

    “Don’t tell me your scared?”

“What? Who, me? No way, I’m just saying, do we really need to be part of the Delta Chi’s?”

“Of course we do, if we aren’t part of a sorority we won’t get accepted. Anyway, you’re the one who talked me into this, remember?”

“I know, but that’s before I realised they still did this shit,” she says as she readjusts the nightlight strapped to her head.

“Say what? Am I talking to Sasha, or some brainless doppelgänger who’s taken over her life?”

“Don’t be like that, I know you warned me, I know, okay. But I thought with mum being a former member I would just breeze in, but this shit, this is…” she stops in her tracks as something splashes in the water up ahead, they both turn to each other, blinding one another with their lights.

“Fuck,” she says as she quickly turns away, her light passes across the tunnel walls, briefly shining on a dark, shadowy figure as it slowly creeps towards the girls, Sasha screams.

    “Did you see that?”

    “See what?”

“That!” She yells, shining her light where the figure stood, but there’s nothing in sight, except miles of dark, deserted tunnel.

“What did you see? What was it?”

“How the fuck should I know Clare, I only saw it for a second, and then it was gone, I’m going back, we’ll apply somewhere else, I-I can’t do this,” she yells as she turns and runs back down the tunnel, she can hear Clare calling her name, but continues to run. It’s only after several minutes that she comes to a stop, realising she no longer knows where she is, the unspeakable happens at that moment as her light flickers, and then, goes dead.

“Fuck, fuck, FUCK!” She screams as she stuffs a hands into her jacket pocket at pulls out a phone and a knife, but the uncontrollable shaking of her hands results with with them both slipping through her grasp and plummeting into the water below. “Shit!” She cries as she plunges her hands in the water, feeling desperately around for them, as she does, she feels something grab her shoulder, call it instinct, panic, or fear, but whatever it is, it takes over and she spins around, driving the knife into whatever it is.

The tunnel lights up, Sasha shields here eyes in surprise, it takes a few moments for them to adjust, and, as she lowers her arm she is confronted by the house leader Marisa and the rest of Delta Chi, then, she stares down at the quivering, bloody, Clare and drops the knife.

“I-I-I didn’t realise, I thought it was that, thing, I-I-I, my god, Clare, please help her,” she screams looking up at Marisa, tears running down her face.

“Don’t be a cry baby Sasha, you passed the test, you’re in. That’s what you wanted, wasn’t it?”

Sasha looks up from her blood covered hands, tears running down her face, “This wasn’t a test, it was murder!”

She laughs, “It’s only murder if they find a body, now, eat.”

  • Day 142 – Rewards – Short Story

    Day 142 – Rewards – Short Story

“Please Norris, don’t do this, don’t listen to their words, I don’t want to be part of it all, I don’t want my family chosen, just let us go, please!” He yells, looking up into the eyes of the gigantic man who stands before him. His hands clench into fists, and his eyes tighten sharply, almost squinting, as he targets his prey.

“I’m sorry Sammy, but I can’t, you know what will come of it all, you know what it means to be chosen,” he says in a low, course voice, pulling back a fist, he fires towards him, driving the powerful left into Sammy’s head, sending him crashing to the ground, his eyes lifeless, his stare void, a pool of blood quickly forms beneath his head, and her screams break the silence. Norris turns to the woman who sits bound by her hands and feet like a wild animal not far from Sammy’s lifeless corpse, and he smiles.

“Don’t worry sweetheart, it’s going to be all over soon,” he says as he takes a step towards her.

“PLEASE!” she screams as he grabs her by the hair and pulls her to her knees.

“Please what? Don’t fucking think for a second you can please your way out of this shit, you and Sammy started all this, you both forced the hand, you made this choice easy, and I have to make sure I do it, or them things will, and if they do, well, you’ll suffer a lot more than what I’ll do to you, you know that don’t you?”

“PLEASE NORRIS, JUST LET ME GO, I’LL LEAVE TOWN, THEY’LL NEVER KNOW YOU LET ME GO, PLEASE!!”

“I can’t do that, you know they’ll know, and then it will be me and mine who will pay, and I ain’t putting my family in danger, not for you, not today, not ever.”

“DON’T BE AN ARSE NORRIS, HELP ME!”

“I fucking can’t!” he yells as he slaps a solid left across her face, sending her to the ground, her whole world spins around like a merry go round, her vision flashes in and out of focus as does her hearing. She tries to mutter words, but all that comes out is gibberish, and she feels Norris hands slowly close around her throat.

“I’m sorry, but, none of us have any choice, you know that, I wish to god I didn’t have to but if I don’t,” he says as he tightens his grip, squeezing her throat, she tries to suck in air, she tries to clumsily fight him off but, to no avail, and evenly, her lifeless hands fall to the ground and he release his grip.

“Bravo,” a voice from behind says, followed by slow, sarcastic clapping. Norris clenches his hands into fists, and stares to the ground.

“It’s done, I’ve punished the sinners, like it was mandated, like I was told.”

“And what a fine sheep you are, following the shepherds orders so well, so precise, you have done well Norris, you and your family should rest well tonight, knowing that they are chosen for the next cycle.”

Norris spins around, his body trembling, “No, I did what you asked, I punished the sinners, the non believes, please, not my family, I’ll do whatever you ask of me, but please, spare my family.”

“The choice has been made, this is a reward Norris, you should be happy, the next cycle is what we all, as a community work towards, don’t make the same mistake Samuel made, don’t make a choice that will only end in suffering.”

He unclenches his fists and his head drops towards the ground, and he falls to his knees, he feels Sammy’s blood soak into his trousers, and he looks back up into Father Jacobs’s smiling face.

    “No suffering?”

“Norris, the next cycle moves us past suffering, and into the next phase, so don’t be afraid my son, for they are with us. Let them be your guide and you will know what lies out there, past what you see in your flesh suite, past what these eyes allow you to see, into, another world, one, where you will be rewarded.”

    Day 141 – Sleep – 50 Word Story Expanded

“It’s not fucking rocket science Timmy, you either play ball, or we find someone else who’ll do the job. This fucker needs to be found and put in the ground. So either you’re in, or out, which one is it?”

“It’s not as simple..” He doesn’t get to finish what he’s saying as something sharp tears into his back. “J-J-Johnny? What t-t-t-the fu-fu-fuck?” He says, looking at Johnny, who smiles and shrugs his shoulders.

“I told you Timmy, you either played ball or we replaced you. And by replace, I mean completely, in all aspects. You have to understand, it’s nothing personal, I can’t keep the men in line if I don’t show strength, so it’s either my way, or a hole.”

“F-F-F-Fuck you Johnny, you better hope to god I die, otherwise I’m going to cut you’re fucking head off.”

“Don’t worry, you’re going to die,” Johnny says as he pulls a revolver from his jacket and holds it to Timmy’s head. “Sorry little brother, but business, is business,” he says as he pulls the trigger, the blast echoes around Timmy’s head for what seems like an eternity, and he falls to his knees, blood quickly forming a thick, sticky puddle beneath him, as that smiling mother fucker looks down at him. He’ll pay, some day, not by his hands, but he knows, he’ll pay. His closes his eyes, as the darkness drags him in, it’s less than a few seconds later that they shoot back open, and he’s standing over his cold lifeless corpse. Johnny is ordering his men around the room, obviously arranging the cleaning up of his body, that’s when he locks eyes with a strange grey haired old man, he’s never seen him before, but, it doesn’t take him long to figure out that he must be death. Or, at least, some form of whatever takes you to the next place, if there is a next place.

“So, how’s this work?” he says.

“How do you want it to?” The old man asks.

“I’d prefer not to be dead.”

    “That can be arranged.”

    “Really?”

“No, you’re dead, there’s no reversing that.”

“Death has a sense of humor, who would have thought.”

“It was not meant to be funny, it was a fact. Some people have a hard time moving on, accepting what has happened is important, so I must remind you, make you understand there is no going back, living again. I have seen your life Timmy, I know for most of it you have faced death, you have killed many, but, near the end, you showed regret, you asked for penance. Well, it seems your cries were heard, as I’m here to grant you that, I’m here to offer you a way to earn your wings, so to speak.”

    “What?”

“Exactly what I said, you see, all those who you were mixed up with, your brother Johnny, and the other low level gutter trash who associate with him. Well, it seems someone wants you to continue what you started two weeks ago, they want you to remove all of them from the chess board, permanently.”

    “Whats in it for me?”

“The penance you seek, the chance to be at peace, or you can move on and be tormented for the rest of eternity, and believe me, eternity is a lot longer than it seems.”

“And all I have to do is take down Johnny and the rest of his fucktards.”

“Not words I would use, but yes, that is correct.”

    “Why?”

“This is a favor I’m doing, so I can’t tell you why, all I know is that the road you started to go along needs to be completed and someone on this side believes you can finish it.”

“Okay, but correct me if I’m wrong, didn’t you say death can’t be reversed?”

“That I did, but, I never said you were going back alive, did I?”

    Day 140 – Sammy – Short Story

“Don’t kid around Jason it’s not funny, what if something really happened to Sammy, what would you do then?”

“Well I wouldn’t feel like it was my fault if that’s what you’re saying,” he quickly replies.

“I’m not saying it’d feel like your fault, I’m just saying, how would you feel if something happened to Sammy, while you’re making those silly jokes?”

“Mum, lighten up, Sammy’s fine, we’ve done this our whole life, why say something now?”

“Because you never know what’s going to happen, okay?”

“Okay, god, okay, I’ll watch what I say, if it’ll keep you happy,” he says as he gets up from his seat and quickly makes his way out of the room, down the hall, and into his bed room, where Sammy sits waiting.

    “How is she?”

“Losing it, as you said she would, I should’ve told her.”

“What would that do? It’d only send her even more up the wall, she needs to face it, deal with it. You just have to help, we both do.”

“How the fuck are you going to help?”

“I can, I’m not useless,” Sammy says as he leaps to his feet.

“Don’t get your knickers in a knot, you know what I mean.”

“I know perfectly well what you meant, I’d just prefer not being reminded about it.”

“You can’t run for this, it’s going to catch up eventually, and when it does, she’s going to lose her shit. You know that don’t you?”

“Yeah, that’s why you’ve got to do the ground work for me. You’ve got to get her ready so when it all hits the fan, she’s not that pissed off at me about it.”

“I don’t think she’s going to be pissed off, upset, but not pissed off.”

“She will, once she knows all of it, at first she’ll be upset, but eventually she’ll be angry and I don’t think I can deal with her being angry at me, and neither will she, it’ll ruin her. So you’ve got to be on my side all the way with this one, not just there, like normal.”

“I’ll keep her calm and I’ll make sure she doesn’t get too pissed, but I can’t promise she won’t.”

Sammy stares out of the window and lets out a cold shiver, before turning back to his brother, his lips blue, his skin pale.

    “Are you ready?”

    “I guess I don’t really have a choice do I?”

They hear the phone ring in the kitchen and both stare towards the hallway, waiting, he feels Sammy’s cold hand tightly grip his, and he grips it back.

“JASON!” His mother calls out from the kitchen before letting out a scream of agony, he looks at Sammy, and shrugs his shoulder, smiling awkwardly.

“I love you Sammy,” Jason says as he turns to his brother, fighting back the tears.

“Love you to bro,” Sammy replies, before he disappears, leaving Jason, standing there, alone, tears runs down his cheek. He quickly wipes his face with the sleeve of his jumper and runs out of the room, to his mother’s side.

    Day 140 – No It’s Not – Short Story

“Now just relax, this, is a safe room, and I’m not going to make you do anything you don’t want to do,” he says as he settles in a seat across from her, she sits there, staring at him, through wild eyes.

“I said I don’t want to,” she says, gripping the side of the couch in her hands tightly. “I just want to go back to my room, to my photos.”

“We’ve been over this before Marie, we’ve agreed, for you to make the necessary steps in your rehabilitation. We need to confront what happened in your past that made you build these walls, walls that’ve lead to violent outward bursts against, well, happiness, other peoples happiness to be more precise.”

“I know, I’m not stupid, I-I-I’d just rather go back to my room.”

“It’s not going to happen Marie. The last four times I’ve allowed you to do just that, and, in each instance, you have gone back to your room, and either assaulted a member of staff or harmed yourself. That will not happen today. Today, you either get on board, or, I’ll have no other choice but to request your immediate relocation to a more, how should I put it….”

“Just say prison, we both know that’s what you want to do with me, lock me up and throw away the key.”

“That’s far from what I want Marie. If you worked with me, like you promised you would, we could fight the demons in your head together, we could overcome all the things inside that make you feel the way you do, all you need to do it lie down, allow me to administer the drug and together, we’ll fight this.”

“I-I-I, okay…..” She says as she slowly lies on the couch, quickly he is to her side and then, a sharp pain, and, well, euphoria.

“Now, tell me Marie, get it out, let’s purge this demon, together,” he says calmly as he sits back down, crosses his legs, placing a small note book on his lap and leans back in the chair.

She stares intensely at the ceiling, her bottom lip begins to tremble, she feels the tears beings to run down her face, and she bites into her bottom lip, breaking the skin, she feels the warm, thickness of it land on her tongue, she tastes the salty goodness, and she wants more. She feels waves crash against her body, waves of sedation, peacefulness, and she closes her eyes, lost in the moment, seconds turn into minutes, and minutes, hours, until, finally, she begins to come back.

“Marie, where are you now?” she hears his voice say, it seems so far away, so distant, her eyes slowly open. She catches a glimpse of something moving in the corner of her eye, it’s not him, he’s to her other side, her heart jumps, it’s rhythm increases, as she sees the dark, shadowy figure, creep towards her, but, shes unable to move. She feels something cold grip her leg, is it a hand? Her heart beats faster, she feels the perspiration seep from her body, as her eyes slowly, nervously make their downward, she locks eyes with it, with herself, and she screams, leaping from the couch, and crashing to the floor in a heap, she scrambles away, cowering in a corner of the room.

“Are you okay?” He asks, she stares at him, her heart races, she sees the sweat run down the side of his brow, he knows, he knows whats happening, he can see it too, it’s what he wanted. He places a nervous finger on the intercom switch and clears his throat, “Judy can you….” A pencil tears into his throat, piercing his windpipe, he clutches at it, gasping for air, as he begins choking on his own blood. Marie stands over his quivering body as the doors to his small office crash open, Judy lets out a scream of horror, the orderlies stand there in shock, before they charge towards her, and she smiles as she digs the pencil into one of their eyes, as they tackle her to the ground. Maybe, finally, she knew how to be happy herself.

“You should feel terrible, like the slut you are,” the voice yells from behind the wooden door, she quickly enters the room and removes the hood, covering her face.

“Please, my love, calm yourself, there is no need for this.”

“Calm myself? My love? Fuck you, you lock me up here while you sleep your way the castle and you expect me to be calm and quite when you finally, and by finally I mean FINALLY visit me. I think not wench, I think I will be as loud and ridiculous as I please myself to be.”

“Bullshit, you just want me out of the way so you can screw your way though the royal guard, admit it!”

“My love, what has happened to you, you understood what w..”

“I understood what was going on, was that what you were going to say? Because if it was, I thought I did, that was before I realised how much of a lying whore you were!”

“Is this really all you have to say for yourself? Is this all that’s left between us?” She asks.

“Fuck you! You lock me up in this prison, yet you expect me to love you, what a fool you are, and how I’ll love taking your head from your shoulders!”

    “Where are you?”

“I’m standing here, locked in this fucking prison wench!”

“We put you in this prison to protect yourself, nothing else, no other motives, we both know what the others would do if they saw you, what they would think of you. My love, please, don’t throw away what we have because it is true, it….”

“Stop it, please, you’re making me sick, do you actually believe the lies you tell? We, were not the ones who put me in this cell, it was you, you chose to lock me away, for my, own protection. I want out, I want my freedom, regardless of what terrors I face, I would rather be out there, instead of locked in here while you flaunt yourself to all who wish to taste your prizes.”

“You are not right my love, you…”

“Stop calling me my love, you don’t love me, you need me, you need what I have, so for once, why don’t you fucking just be honest, bitch!”

She walks to bars of his jail and rests her head upon them, looking at him, she smiles as her face twists, his eyes widen as her face distorts, changes before his eyes,  into something, someone, he doesn’t recognise, and she smiles, “Why don’t you just rest up my love, all will be right soon.”

“It’s not about the money,” he says as he looks into the man’s eyes.

“Bullshit, it’s always about money, everything is!” The big brute says as he pulls the hammer back and drives it down onto his hand, shattering two of his fingers. He clenches his teeth, refusing to give his tormentor satisfaction. He drives the hammer down again onto the two remaining fingers, but he still refuses to scream, even as he twists the hammers head over his pulverised fingers. Saliva drips from his mouth, mixed with blood, and he stares into his eyes, with nothing but hate.

“Fucking think you’re a big man don’t you? Think you’ve got the cohunes to do the job? I can see it in your dim witted eyes, you’re nothing more than a frightened little boy who likes to pull wings off flies because he’s afraid of them,” he says through gritted teeth. The brute backhands him across the face and he laughs as he spits a mouthful of blood to the floor. “Exactly what I thought.” He goes to swing another devastating punch but a woman’s voice breaks the tension.

“Stop Salvador, can’t you see he’s goading you into it, stay your hand my love, and let me see what Mister Parramore has to tell us,” she says as she walks from the back of the room, holding the golden box.

He laughs as he looks through his one good eyes at her and winks at Salvador, “She’s hot for me,” he says, Salvador drives another horrible left across his face and screams in anger, mixed with frustration.

“Fuck you little man, one more excuse, just one more and I’ll send you on your fucking way to the grave!”

    “Salvador!” She screams.

He turns to her in a fit of rage and snarls, “Fuck him, he’s nothing but a piece of shit, just another hired gun for Watkins, let’s just end him and get the hell out of here!”

“No, he’s not like the rest, I know he knows something, don’t you?” She says as she places the box on a small table in front of him. “What power does this hold, and why does Watkins want it?”

“I never said I work for that piece of trash Watkins, I work for the owner of the box, and he wants it back!”

“Back?” She says as she laughs. “Mister Parramore, this box has been floating around for centuries, from collector to collector, each paying a higher price than the last, there is no true owner.”

“Shows how much you really know Angela, the box is part of a group of items that’s were used to breach the infinite realities, when combined with the ring of Razmats it activates and opens a doorway to the land of the Gods.”

    “You lie?”

“I’m not lying, you can see for yourself, there’s a chain around my neck, that’s Razmats ring,” she stands there and looks at Salvador who charges at him and pulls the chain free. “Easy there tiger I was offering it to you, now all you have to do is place the chain in the small crevice in the center of the box and you’ll see I’m telling the truth,” he says. She snatches the chain and gently begins lowering it into the center of the box, suddenly the chain turns into a liquid and Parramore begins reciting words, ancient words that have no counterparts in the English language, and the room is engulfed in a pulse of bright green light, then, darkness. She looks at Salvador who gives her a confused look back and she looks towards Parramore.

“Fuck, the lying piece of shit escaped!” She screams as she looks at the empty chair.

“I need not escape,” a deep, gravely voice says from the darkness as the shadows begin to come together into the form of a gigantic figure. “For I am home,” it screams as it tears into the two.

  • Day 138 – Bad Day V Bastard – Short Story

Day 138 – Bad Day V Bastard – Short Story

I snap the fucker’s finger, and pull the meaty, stubbly thing right off his hand and toss it onto the floor with the rest of them, he doesn’t scream anymore, the fuckers all out of screams now, but it doesn’t take away my enjoyment. He told me a heap of shit, more than I cared to know, all I really wanted was one name, the one who was behind all of it, seemed he thought I was grilling him for every other bit of information he ever knew, and couldn’t understand why I didn’t care. I cared, just not for what he had to say once he told me what I wanted to know, but I wasn’t going to let it end there, I wanted to make him remember this, and because he wasn’t like a normal person, he couldn’t die, meant I had more fucking fun with him.

Getting here was half the fun, getting to this moment, I still remember the look on Kildone’s face when he first saw me was priceless, he started spewing shit about how I should have stayed down there, how he was more powerful than I realised and soon he would be dining on my nuts, fat fuck didn’t expect me to be packing extra juice, he knew I was working for the devil, but he didn’t realise I was actually fucking enjoying it. I broke his neck then all fourteen of his ribs so the fucker made a sucking, wheezing sound every time he took a breath, I laughed so hard for a while before I broke the remaining ten ribs and both the fuckers legs, and then force fed him his balls and cock, shoved them in his mouth and made him chew, he cried for a while after that and then I started playing skin the fat fuck, but I just used my finger nails and ripped the skin off him that way. I didn’t realise until that moment how much rage I had built up inside and how much I wanted to make that fat fuck pay for everything he did to me. For thirty nine hours I played with him, just ripping a piece off here and there to remind him that I was still here, and then he stopped sobbing, stopped screaming and just sat there in his piss, shit and blood like I had a few months before, and then he looked up at me through his one good eye and smiled. I so wanted to wipe that fucking smile off his face, but I also wanted to know why, so I asked him, I mean there wasn’t much more pain I could cause him and he knew I’d eventually have my fill and just off him, so I sat down, offered him a smoke and asked the fat fuck what was so funny. He said I was and idiot, I drove my boot right into his nose, spread it across his face like a pancake and asked again. He said the devil was using me as his bitch, I ripped off his left ear and yelled into it that I was well away of that, he coughed and spluttered a bit and then after a fifteen minute wheezing fit, where he struggled to breathe, he told me the devil was a deceitful son of a bitch, his word was a lie and his contracts weren’t worth a piece of shit and I should prepare my arsehole for a hard fucking. I told him I didn’t care about no contract, this was about something else, this was about me making sure his fat fucking arse was taken care of permanently. He laughed and coughed up some sort of black mucous and had another twenty minute wheezing fit before he dropped the last dime. He said my signing the contract with the devil would leave my wife and kid stuck in hell, in my place. Apparently I didn’t go straight down stairs, I had just sort of drifted in the middle for a few months while they fought over me, seems the deal I made with the devil was a major trading card for him in his battle with upstairs, heaven and hell both wanted me and I signed to play for hell, so heaven paid some massive dollars to get him to sign me over to them. Part of the deal was my family, I was played, again, but I still had an ace up my sleeve, that fat fuck Kildone. My contract was done once that fat fuck went into the whatever after all this, so I buried him in a wide fucking hole and told him once I was done, I’d be seeing him again. And that’s how I ended up here, dismantling the devil, looking for a name, he gave it to me all right, he gave me the one who put my family on the plate, so I made the devil a new deal, one he couldn’t refuse, because he had no choice, he may be the king of lies but I’m the fucking king of pain. So now I’m off to kill the fuck who put my family in the pressure cooker, now, now I’m off to kill God.

“Please, please, let me go!” She screams as the old woman comes towards her, she slowly runs her hands through her hair and smiles, before taking a big handful of hair and pulling the girls head to the side, running the blade of a knife along the side of her face.

“Ain’t no letting go of ya girl, ya here ta stay now, been hunting ya for ta long, ta just let ya go,” the old woman says as she digs the knife into the girls forehead, and slowly begins slicing it across her face, the girl screams out in agony. “Don’t worry ya pretty little head, soon, all tha pain be gone, and then ya be finally resting, as ya feed the dying ones with ya flesh,” the woman says as she cuts into her again, the door burst open and he storms in, his pistol raises, he looks at the woman and then at Larissa, and fires, two shots slap into her skull like rocks into a pond, the back of her head explodes in a mess of blood, brains, skull and flesh, and she crashes to the ground in a lifeless heap. Quickly he rushes to her side and cuts through the bindings,  freeing them from around her writs first, and she grabs him desperately, clutching at him, tears running how her face, she struggles to catch her breath.

“I-I-I-I though she was going to kill me-e-e-e!” she cries, as she tightens her grip on him, burying her face into his shoulder.

“I’m so sorry, this is my fault, I should’ve know, I should’ve see what was going to happen, they distracted me, used Jones, when it was always you they wanted.” he says as he pulls her into his arms and lifts her away from the table.

“Just get me out of here, get me somewhere far, far away, where I never have to think of this place, or that woman again.”

“Don’t worry, we’ll be away from here sooner than you can th…” he stops, and stares off into the doorway, his mouth slowly opens and thick, deep red, blood begins to pour from it, he crashes to his knees and she begins to scream as the old woman stands behind him, a blood covered knife in her hands, a smile on her face, and two holes still in her head, and the light reflecting though them, she screws her face up in fear and the old woman laughs.

“Ain’t tha way ta be going home girl, not while we got things ta do,” he says as she reaches down and grabs Larissa by the hair and pulls her to her feet.

    “What the fuck are you?”

“I be ya mamma girl, ya be ma daughter.”

    “What? That’s not possible!”

“Okay, me lied, but ya going be part o’me now, them undead fuck have ta wait for something new, because ma be needing a new set o’legs, and yours be right for me.” the woman says as she drives the blade up into Larissa’s stomach and twist it, kissing her deeply, then pulls away, and smiles, Larissa’s vision beings to slowly drop in and out, as does her hearing, and she feels her legs beings to give way, she cast one look over to the old woman, who smiles at her, with a toothless grin.

The bolt rips through his chest and pins him to the ground, he twitches and screams in agony as she places a boot on his throat and pushes the heel deep in, he lets out a raspy, desperate breath as she laughs.

“Look at you, the saviour of mankind, struggling under the foot of a woman, how poetic,” she says with a smile.

“T-This isn’t you Cordelia, fight it! I know you’re strong enough,” he says through gritted teeth.

“Face reality Malcolm, this is the true me, this is who I was meant to be. Not some woman hiding in the shadow of the great hero Buchannan, but a holder of power, a queen.”

“I can’t believe it, I know you better than you know yourself, can’t you see what the ring has done to you? Can’t you see it’s warped who you are, turned you into this thing.”

She pushes her boot down harder, and twists it, he gasps for air, “This is me you foolish man, the ring holds no power over me, it’s just a ring, it always has been,” she says as she pulls the ring from her finger and throws it at his face. It bounces off his cheek and tumbles to the ground, he looks at it and then back to her, his eyes wide and he can feel the sweat running down his forehead, her screwed up face changes from rage, to fear and sorrow. “Oh no, Malcolm, what have I done?” She says as she pulls her boot away and knees beside him, cradling his head.

“It was the ring, it had a hold of you. Help pull this free from my chest and we can stop Dalton together,” he says as he places a hand on her cheek, she rubs her face on it and grabs the bolt with one hand and laughs.

“You pathetic fool,” she says as she pushes his hand away and twists the bolt, he screams in pain. “I told you the ring was nothing, but you could not accept that, could you? Can you now? Can you not see the real me, the one you kept locked away! Face it Malcolm, face reality before you breath your last,” she says as she gets to her feet. “It was I who killed Ferro and Hellina, I did that long before this ring, it was I who freed Dalton from his cell, I did all that while you blindly chased after a ghost, an invisible enemy who never existed. You’re a fool, a weakling, not worthy of this worlds accolades, face your victor and be humble man,” she says as she kicks him in the side of the head.

“N-No, this can’t be true, what happened to you, what happened to the woman I called my friend, my partner, my soul mate?”

She laughs, “Soul mate? Stop trying to twist things your way Malcolm. You did this, you used me, toyed with my emotions, lead me on while you played house with that woman, a human of all things. When all along I was the one you should’ve been with, I was the one you were meant to love!” She says as she kicks him again.

“This i-is all because you’re jealous?”

She laughs again, “I’m not jealous hero, I’m free from your hold and I can see you for what you really are, a spoilt, chauvinistic bully, who uses his good looks and winning smile to manipulate a world into believing he’s their hero. Well, lover boy, that time has ended, your time is over, it’s my turn now, it’s a new world, and heroes like you..” she says as she drives her boot into his head, impaling him on the heel, “..are not welcome!”

Day 135 Daily Prompt – Generous – 50 Word Story Expanded

“Here,” he says holding out a fifty dollar note towards him, the mans eyes light up. He leans forward, confusion, excitement and fear all run across his face in matter of seconds, he nervously reaches out a hand. His eyes dart from the note, to the strangers face, and then, back to the crisp fifty dollar note. He gently takes it in his fingers and grips it as the stranger releases his.

    “Why?”

“Why? Because, you called, that’s way,” he says, he sees a flash of teeth, white, bright teeth from within the man’s shadowed face as he smiles.

    “I called? I don’t understand?”

The stranger laughs as he pulls a packet of cigarettes from his coat and offers him one, which he quickly takes. He runs it underneath his nose, then, with a strong whiff, he draws its toxic, wonderful fragrance into his face, leaning back against the alleyway wall and allows himself to smile.

“Of course you understand, you see, I wouldn’t be here if you didn’t,” the stranger says, as he lights his own cigarette, the flame of the match lights up his face, his skin looks soft, un-blemished, like that of a teenager, but his features are that of a man in his late forties.

    “I-I-I, I really don’t understand.”

He smiles, “Derek, I can call you Derek, can’t I?” He says, Derek nods his head slowly.

“H-H-How do you know my name?”

“I’ll take that as yes, how long have you been living on these streets? Six, seven years?”

    “Six.”

“How many times have you wished, prayed, begged for a miracle?”

“Everynight,” he says softly, as his eyes begin to well up with tears.

“Well, tonight will be the first night where you won’t, as I’m here because your call, your pleads, your cries, are to be answered. In other words, welcome to your new life,” the man says, suddenly the alleyway around them transforms into a dining room. A plethora of food lies on the table, food he hasn’t seen for years, and every dish, everyone, are his favirouties. He turns to the stranger and cannot hold back his tears any longer.

“I don’t know how I can thank you, everything you’ve done today will not be forgotten,” he says, looking up at him, tears running down his cheeks.

“I’m not being generous here sport, this is what you’d call, a building experience for everyone,” he says with a uncomfortable, wry smile.

    “A, building experience?”

The stranger laughs, “This is your new life, but, to hold onto it all Derek, you will be doing things that, you’ll wish not to remember. Things that will bring suffering to others, things, that, well, let’s just leave it at that, for now.”

“I don’t understand, you said you were sent from God, why would he ask things of me that would do wrong to others?”

“Derek,” he says as he smiles, his wide, white, toothy smile once again. “When did I say God had sent me? For, he, that sniveling, pathetic, scum fucker, was not the only one you called to, you also, called to me.”

“You’re silly, have I told you that today?”

“Once or twice,” he replies as his cheeks go red.

“Well, make it three times,” she says as she grabs his hand and shoves it up her jumper, his hand shakes and she kisses him on the nose again. “Grab hold of my boob or so help me, I’ll pull you pants down again,” she says with a giggle, he lightly places his hand over her breast, and he can feel her nipple hardens underneath his palm, and he pulls it back, she grabs his hand again and she shoves it back onto her breast, firmly this time. “That means I like it, like when your guy down there goes hard when you look at all your porn mags.”

He blushes again, and pulls his hand away, “Stop it,” he says as he pushes her off his lap and stands, she giggles.

“Your hard now,” she says as she grabs the top of his jeans as rips them down, along with his pants, he quickly covers himself and pushes her away, but she gets to her feet and tackles him to the bed, he tries to wriggle his way out of her hold but she drives a knee into his arm and pins him to the bed and quickly puts her mouth over his hard member and he lets out a groan and explodes in her mouth, she keeps bobbing her head up and down and he wriggles and twists and turns and then screams out again and empties another load in her mouth, and she pulls away, giggling as she wipes her mouth and he lays there, staring at the ceiling, as another quiver of ecstasy runs through his body.

“It’s never felt like that before,” he says through gasps.

    “Good or bad?”

“Amazingly good,” he says with a laugh.

“See, I told you that was going to be way better than your hand,” she says proudly.

“It was like, I can’t explain it, I think for a moment I felt my brain actually move.”

“It got me wet, which brings me to our next lesson,” she says with a smile as she lifts her skirt. “You ever just licked an all days sucker?”

“What do you mean?” he says as he forces himself up on his elbows.

“I mean, have you ever just licked one, and not took a bite?”

“I guess so, I don’t really know, but what’s that got to do with this?”

“Everything honey, because if you bite it, I’m going to punch you in the balls,” she says with a giggle as she straddles his face. “Now you want to work your way around the entrance and up, around the inner flaps, until you find my clitoris, and once you have me nice an…” she lets out a gasp. “Well, honey, you’re a fast learn….. Day 134 – Spark – 50 Word Story Expanded

“It starts like all things, with a spark, one that grows, and grows, until finally it consumes everything, becoming more than just a part of you, it is you, and, you can’t hold back, you don’t want to. You thrive, you survive, and that, my dear friend, is my answer.”

“But it doesn’t really answer anything, it’s like the biggest cop out answer in the word.”

“What do you mean? I have answered your question with skill, with perfection, how does it not answer what you have asked?”

“Because it doesn’t, you just prattled on, like you were wasting time in the hope that eventfully the answer would come to you while your were talking.”

“That is an insane notion, I am not programmed to prattle on, I am designed to assist and facilitate whatever my master wishes. I learn, I grow, I become, you have asked me a question, I have determined the best answer. I do not waste time, I complete tasks, and I answered your question with the most accurate information available.”

“Sure, you say that, but you still avoided answering the question.”

“But I did, I answered your question, if you failed to hear it correctly I am happy to repeat it.”

“I don’t want to hear it again, I don’t need to, I know what you said, and it didn’t answer the fucking question,” he says as he throws his hands up in the air in frustration.

“Profanity will not assist anything, and anyway, if my answer was not what you wished it to be, maybe your question was flawed.”

“What? Seriously, are you going to try and defend your non-answer by saying my question was the problem instead?”

“It can be the only obvious problem, your question must be lacking what is required, if my answer did not give you the information needed to resolve the issue that initially required you to ask the question.”

    “You’re doing it again.”

    “What?”

    “Prattling on.”

“Once again, I do not prattle on, I give the required information that is asked of me, you are my master, you are the person who I have interacted with, grown from, I mirror what you show me, if I prattle on, as you put it, then you are the one who made me that way.”

“Are you seriously trying to shift the blame for everything you do, all your mistakes or short comings, onto me so you don’t have to answer the question?”

“I have answered your question, as I stated before, but, as to the first part of your statement, if that is the way your are deciphering the information I am passing onto you, then so be it, I am merely pointing out the facts.”

He runs his hands through his hair and grabs a handful in each and pulls, “How in the hell is this possible?”

“I am sorry, I do not understand your question.”

“This, how is this possible? I mean, you’re avoidance, you’re snarky attitude, if you’d just said from the start that you couldn’t answer the question instead of giving me such a bullshit answer we wouldn’t be going back and forth like this.”

    “But I answered your question.”

“Seriously, that is not the answer to what does sex feel like, it just doesn’t make sense, why don’t you just admit you don’t know anything about it!”

They twist and turn together in their nakedness, each meeting the others thrust, as they become more like a living, breathing machine than two separate bodies. She lets out a gasp of pleasure and he thrusts harder and twists her down onto the bed, pulling himself from within her and quickly burying his face in her crotch, she grabs his head, grabbing a handful of hair and pushes him down deeper, she arches her back, letting out another gasp. He picks up his pace as she squirms and moans, more and more, her breathing begins to quicken, her body tenses, her eyes shut tight, and she bites into her bottom lip.

“Now!” She says, quickly he moves up, along her body, they kiss as he penetrates her again, rubbing her clit with his fingers as he thrusts his hard, blood engorged member back and forth within her. She digs her finger nails into his back, ripping them down as she quivers with anticipation, frantically matching his thrust, until she lets out a satisfied cry. He thrusts harder, faster, until he too joins her in orgasm, they both let loose with cries of exhilaration and ecstasy, as they both collapse, exhausted and spent, on top of each other. For a few moments all they can do is breath, both still coming down, until finally, she breaks the silence, grabbing him by the hair and pulling his head up, to face her, so she can stare into his pale blue eyes.

    “What the hell was that?”

    “What?”

“That? How in the fucking hell didn’t I know you could do that?”

“You never asked,” he says with a smile.

“Yeah, but I was good friends with Gloria and Louise, and all the rest of your floozies. None of them have ever said you were this good.”

“Maybe they didn’t kiss and tell,” he says with a laugh.

“Believe me, they all kiss and tell, all of them, but whenever it came to you, they would never say anything like this, they’d just brush it off and change the subject like you were shit or something, so what gives?”

“Maybe they were worried you’d try to move in on me.”

“What? I doubt it, you and me, there’s never been anything, well not until now that is. But before, we’ve only ever been mates, real good mates, but only mates, not this,” she says as she plays with his earlobe.

“Maybe they saw something that we didn’t?”

She sits there for a few moment and runs her hand through his hair and smiles as she lies back down on the bed, “Maybe,” she says as he slowly moves a hand down her stomach, towards her groin. “Really? Round two already?”

“There’s no sense in waiting around, is there?”

“I thought you needed to cram for your interview tomorrow, wasn’t that why you came over in the first place?”

“I can cram later, something else has come up,” he says with a smile as he goes down on her again.

“Well then, there’s no sense at all, is there?” she says as she pulls the sheets over their heads.

He wipes the liquid from his mouth and tosses the goblet to the ground and lets out a loud burp, “Stop worrying honey, I’ve got this sorted honey,” he says as he slaps her on the arse and squeezes, pulling her against him. “Now, how about we fuck?”

“I told you before Frank, I’m…” But she doesn’t get to finish as the room suddenly quivers, the walls crack, the floor bends, and the temperature rises.

“What the fuck?” Frank yells as he crashes to the floor in a heap.

“He’s coming, he’s answering your call.”

“Seriously? You mean this shit is for real?”

“Of course it’s for real, didn’t you understand that? Isn’t that why you’re here?”

“I was here because I thought we were going to fuck, wasn’t that obvious?”

“Gutter trash,” she hisses as the ground beneath them opens up like a fissure in space as hot flames tear out of it, licking at the walls and roof, and then, everything goes quite, and she stands before them, her long blond hair cascades down over her shoulders and rests just above her waist, her breast, large, push against the flimsy black dress that leave little to the imagination, and her black lips smile as flames dance within her eyes.

“What a fine fucking mess we have here,” she says, grabbing at her breasts and squeezing them tightly. “This isn’t too bad either, I’d say I’m his,” nodding towards Frank.

    “M-M-Mine?”

“You called me, did you not?”

“I-I-I-It was her, I-I-I don’t want anything to do with this man, I was just after a bit of pussy, I swear I just though this was some sort of foreplay shit.”

“You don’t like?” she says as she takes a step towards him, he scrambles backwards until he slams int the wall.

“P-P-PLEASE, SHE TRICKED ME!” he screams.

“Is that right? Did you trick this poor soul into summoning me?” She asks turning to the girl.

“I told him everything, I tried to make him listen, but he was only thinking with his cock, I thought he was into all this,” the girl replies quickly.

She laughs and turns back to him, “Honey, I saw everything that took place, I know what was going on in your head,” she says, prodding his head with a finger. “You wanted to fuck, so here I am, all ready, hot and horny, waiting for you,” she says grabbing him by the hair and twisting his face towards hers. “So Franky boy, are we going to have some fun?”

    “I can’t, I just, please, p-p-please.”

“You can’t what? Get it up?”

He nods, as tears run down his face.

She laughs, “That’s okay Franky, you don’t need to worry about that,” she says as she pulls her enormous, hard cock free from her pants, slapping him in the face with it. “I’m plenty hard enough for both of us.”

“Gross, why the hell would I do that?”

“Because she’s French man, and you know what they say about chicks from France?”

    “What? They speak French?”

“No man, that they’re hot and go all the way on the first date, and she’ll be sleeping under the same roof as you, you’d be absolutely crazy not to try something!”

“I don’t even know what she looks like.”

“She’s French man, she’s going to be hot, I swear, if you don’t tap her, I will.”

“Shut up,” Peter says as he shoves Kyle away, both boys freeze in places as they hear a car pull up in the driveway, signalling the return of his parents with their new house guest. Peter feels the sweat suddenly seep out of his pours, nervously wiping his hands on his trousers as he hears car doors close. He gives Kyle a quick glance and rolls his eyes when he sees the big grin on his face, he turns away, secretly breathing into his hands and almost passes out as he wafts in his own, stale, garlic infused breath. It’s then that the door swings open and his Father steps in, carry two large suitcases, a huge smile on his face.

“Peter, go help your Mother will you?”

“I’ll help Mister Winters,” Kyle says as he rushes out the door, coming back in a few moments later with another two suitcases, looking white as a ghost. He locks eyes with Peter, shaking his head vigorously, seconds later he’s followed in the door by Peter’s Mother and Lucie, who is without a doubt, the most beautiful girl Peter has ever seen. She smiles at him, he feels his cheeks instantly go red, but, like Kyle, the look his mother gives him also is one of perplexed confusion.

“Pete, this is Lucie, Lucie this is my son Peter. Treat him like your brother,” his father says as he grabs Peter by the shoulders.

“H-h-hi,” Peter says as he holds out his hand.

“Hello Peter, it’s awesome to meet you, your Mother and Father have told me all about you,” Lucie says, in a deep, deep husky voice, grabbing his hand tightly and vigorously shaking it.

Peter stands there for a few moments, not knowing what to say or do, but his father quickly sees his difficulties and takes control of the situation.

“Peter, why don’t you show Lucie to her room and show her where everything she needs to know is while you’re there, you know, give her the grand tour,” his Father says to Peter as he squeezes his shoulders, Peter buckles with pain, gritting his teeth and forcing a smile.

“S-S-S-Sure, it’s down this w-w-w-way,” he says as he leads Lucie down to the back of the house. “This is your room here,” he says as he opens the door. “It used to be my sisters room, but she’s moved to Brisbane with her boyfriend.”

“Lucky for me,” Lucie says as she grabs Peter, dragging him into the room, slamming the door behind them, fifteen minutes later Peter stumbles out of the room and into his, where Kyle sits waiting.

“What the hell happened to you?” Kyle asks as he helps Peter to his bed.

“You were right, you were so right,” Peter says as he collapses on the bed. “She just wants to have sex, that’s all she wants, man it was amazing,” he says as he passes out.

    Meanwhile across the hall….

“It will be simple high-overload, I have already placed my seed in the boy, the town will follow and then the rest of this vile world and we will…” A knock at the door interrupts her report, she quickly closes the small device and opens the door and pulls Kyle in, “I’ve been waiting for you,” she says as she slams the door shut.

  • Day 131 – The House – Short Story

Day 131 – The House – Short Story

Don’t turn out the lights, that’s the first thing my grandmother told me when I stayed at her house for the first time, don’t turn out the lights and everything will be fine.

I was a kid and didn’t understand what she meant and honestly, I really didn’t want to, I just did what she said and never thought about it again, it just became habit. Anyway, last year she died and the house remained as it was, untouched, unused, basically ignored, that was until mum and dad both passed and the fate of the house fell into my hands. At first I wanted to put it up for auction, and hopefully make something off it, but then my wife, Clare, fell in love with it as soon as she saw it, and I, to be honest did as well. You see, I hadn’t laid eyes on it for eighteen years or more, not since I moved away chasing dreams of success, where I met, fell in love with and eventually married Clare. We’d been married for almost six years at that stage, and we thought it was about time we slowed down and considered the idea of starting a family before we were both too old, our careers were solid, I was pretty established as a writer and really didn’t need to be in the city anymore, while Clare wanted to be a mum, so we decided, after a few days of constant reflection and discussion we would move into the house and see what we thought. The next day we subleased our town house and packed up just like that, it was odd to be perfectly honest, normally both of us were pretty big fence sitters, but with this, we both jumped, and never gave it a second thought. I thought it was a good idea anyway, I’d hit a wall while writing my latest novel and needed some inspiration and I thought going home again would bridge that gap between who I was when I was writing best seller material, to who I am now, writing the trash that I can’t even bring myself to read. See, I was six books deep into the story of Jennifer and the strange things that happened to her and her friends, it’d weighed a lot on my shoulders because I didn’t find the fun I used to in writing, well not this crap. But my publisher was hell bent on adding another sequel to the mix. Where I, well, all I really wanted to do was write the sequel to my first book ‘The Widow’ it was a story of a demonic beast that slithered its way through mankind in the form of a woman who would just appear in people’s lives as if she had always been there, really fucking screwed up stuff, played with the mind so well, and I had fucking really enjoyed writing it. So the idea of her was always in the back of my mind. I so wanted to write another part of the story, hell I even left the end very open so one day I could do just that. But that’s not what I’m writing about, not anymore. When we first set foot in the house I felt it, something strange, yet familiar. Something or someone I’d known, or had known me, was watching us, following us, but whatever it was, I was the only one who felt it, so, I eventually brushed it off as nerves about the book, and we tried to get settled in.

All the furniture was still there, Mum and Dad didn’t know what to do with any of it, so rather than deal, they just left it all there. Which was great for us because we didn’t need to do anything but pull back the sheets and do some dusting. The first night we were so buggered from the trip we grabbed take out and parked ourselves on the lounge room floor and soaked up everything up, more wine than atmosphere though. It was like stepping back in time, I’ve got to be honest, I actually felt like a kid again, and then, after one and a half bottles of red I remembered the rule. Clare thought it was a joke at first, but as the wine dwindled and we became more and more obsessed with the story about not turning out the light, she became more and more agitated, to the point where she refused to turn off the lounge room light when we finally decided it was time to get some sleep. It was about four in the morning when she woke and rushed to the toilet, I rolled over, my back ached from sleeping on the floor, and I waited for her to come back. After about fifteen minutes passed I started to get a little worried and called for her, but there was no answer, I can tell you, plenty of thoughts ran through my mind, but, nothing could get me ready for what I found as I rushed to the toilet. Clare, was asleep, passed out more like it, still sitting propped up on the toilet, her mouth open, and a ball of paper in her hand ready to wipe. I roused her up, guided her back to our makeshift bed on the floor and she was soon snoring her little head off. That’s when it happened, I don’t know why, I mean, I was so well trained, but I guess it was partly the wine and partly not being here for years that contributed to it, but I turned out the light. There were hundreds of them, peering out from the darkness at me, I stood there, too afraid to move, all the while, Clare snored. They didn’t move, not once, they just floated there, attached to nothing, watching me, maybe waiting for me to do something I guess, so, I did the only thing I could do, and turned the lights back on. Needless to say, I didn’t get any more sleep, and, when Clare finally woke up, we headed back home once I told her what I saw. What happened to the house? Well, I still own it, and it still sits there, waiting, for the lights to be turned off…

    Day 130 – Pant’s Down – 50 Word Story Expanded

“Thanks for coming so quickly, I know this is the last place…”

“Shut up Damon, I’m here, like you asked, now, what the fuck do you want,” she says as she throws her bag to the ground and tumbles into the seat opposite him.

    “I-I-I..”

“You what?” her eyes burn at him like hot daggers, and he feels a lump expand in his throat as he tries to swallow.

“Please, Sally, I need you to listen to me, I’m sorry for all the shit that happened between us, I really am, but, you’re my best friend, and I really need you right now.”

She laughs and rolls her eyes in her head, “Fuck you Damon, you call me out of the blue, for the first time in two months since you blew me off for Debbie Morgan, two fucking months, I’ve called you like fifty times and you haven’t even answered once, and now, you want me to be your friend? Where was you when I need my best friend? What were you doing? Being a shit Damon, that’s where you were, arsehole,” she says as she crosses her arms and leans back in the seat.

“I’m sorry, really Sal, I am, but I didn’t want to get you involved, I though maybe I could handle it on my own, but I was wrong, I need you, and I promise, I swear, I’ll never shut you out again,” he says, tears streaming down his face.

She relaxes her arms, her face softens, and her eyes show concern, “What the fuck is going on Damon?”

“It’s better if I show you first,” he says, as he looks around the small coffee shop, and leans across the table. “But, not here, somewhere private.”

    “What the fuck?”

“I promise, I’ll tell you everything, but I really need to show you first.”

“You’re not going to show me your cock are you?”

“What? Why do you think that?”

“Because you’ve been readjusting your junk the whole fucking time I’ve been sitting here, you don’t have herpes or anything like that do you?”

“Not herpes…” He says as he goes bright red, blood rushing to his cheeks.

    “But what?”

“I don’t know,” he says as he hangs his head in embarrassment.

“What the fuck do you mean, you don’t know?”

    “Exactly what I said, I don’t know.”

“Have you been to a doctor?”

“When it first started, they did all sorts of tests, but I never went back, not once it started to get worse.”

    “Worse?”

“Yeah, it’s got, bigger, I guess is the best way to put it.”

    “What? Your cock?”

    “Everything down there.”

    “Well, show me then.”

“Can we do it somewhere else, I’d rather…”

“Just fucking pull your pants down, I know it’s not the way either of us wanted this moment to be, but just show me,” she says sternly.

“Either of us wanted this moment to be?”

She rolls her eyes again and smiles nervously, “Don’t be a dick Damon, I’m a girl, you’re a guy, we’ve know each other since we were five, don’t tell me you’ve never been curious to see what’s under my top?”

    “Yeah, but, I’m a guy.”

“And what? Girls can’t think dirty thoughts?”

He looks around the room and swallows before turning back to her, “So, are you sure?”

“I asked, didn’t I?” she says as she awkwardly shuffles in her seat.

“I know, it’s just, I never expected you to want to see it, not mine anyway,” he says as he stands in front of her and pulls down his pants.

“WOW,” she says, one of the ladies at the table behind them drops her cup of coffee, while another crashes to the ground unconscious.
