….“You ain’t the shit!” Devon spits through clenched teeth as he tries to fight his way out of their grip, as he glares hatefully at the smiling Leon.
“Fact is boy,” Leon says with a curl of his tongue as he dips the tips of his fingers in Holly’s blood and rises back to his feet. “I am omnipotent, while you are food for thought,” he says as he wipes a trail of blood across each of his cheeks, then sticks them into his mouth, and sucks them clean.
“Y-YOU’RE A FUCKING JOKE WITHOUT A PUNCH LINE! A-A FACE WITHOUT EYES! A-A-A SPACE FILLER WAITING FOR WHATEVER IS NEXT! YOU’RE NOTHING!”
He laughs softly and rolls his eyes up into the back of his head. “Let me ask you a question, and not one of those playful joke questions we all seem to be asking ourselves all the time. Let me asks you a real, important question. Can I do that?” he asks as he crouches in front of Devon.
“S-Sure, b-b-but it won’t change anything!”
“I do not intend to change anything with my question, all I am merely looking to do, is to learn something, and maybe if you treat this like an opportunity as I am, you may too learn something.”
“I TOLD YOU, IT WON’T CHANGE A THING!”
“And I said, it isn’t designed to change, it is designed to teach, and in teaching we learn. Learning is not change, it is broadening ourselves not for change, but for whatever is next. Do you see? Do you understand?”….

Plain Sighted Solvent – Twisted Microfiction 2020TOO
….“Did I know she was going to do that, is that what you’re asking?” Kyle says as he looks up across the table with sorrow filled eyes, clumsily playing with the handcuffs that are tightly locked around his blood-stained wrists. “No, no I didn’t think that thought even entered my head. I was t-thinking about o-other things a-anyway, t-things that involved the two of us, a-and only the two of us.”
“Why did you bring Henrietta along then, if you only had plans for you and Carly?”
He shrugs his shoulders and curls his bottom lip over his top. “Dunno, maybe because it felt like the right thing to do.”
“The right thing to do, how do? If you hadn’t taken Henrietta along, she’d be alive right now, and you’d be off somewhere getting your little man taken care of, but instead you’re here talking to us while two girls are lying downstairs on COLD CONCRETE SLABS with their parents CRYING in the hallways! So why don’t you CUT THE CRAP and tell us what REALLY happened tonight!”
“I-I-I,” he stammers as tears cascade down his cheeks before he drags his blood-stained sleeve across his face, giving never life to the dried blood, and smearing it across his face. “Y-You don’t really wanna k-know the truth, n-not really…..”

A Failed Understanding – Twisted Microfiction 2020TOO
….He stares at Dwight for many long moments before finally letting out a exhausted sigh. “You don’t know how I feel, not really, because you haven’t felt what I’ve felt. So sorry if I can’t accept your help, it’s not that I don’t want it, it’s rather that you’re better off not giving it,” he says softly as he twists his head in several different directions until a crack of bone on bone is heard.
“You don’t know me that well, I could understand far better than most, for my life has dealt me with many a sore thumb.” he says with a soft smile.
“You and your sore thumbs can go elsewhere, I have no use for either of you.” he commands with pointed finger. “The only thing you understand is how not to do what needs to be done!”
“Then, if that is true, you are in a roundabout way asking for my help, no?”
“What? How do you get that, for all that? I am sure I quite clearly told you to go!”
“Yes, you did. You instructed me to leave in several varied forms, and then after all that, you made the startling point of how I fail to follow instructions.” he says with a broad grin…..

Flood To The Noise – Twisted Microfiction 2020TOO
….The music slaps him in the face like a tightly wound fist, and his head thrusts back, then catapults forward before the music slams into his face again. He stumbles back while the music assaults him with explosive beat after explosive beat until he finally drops to one knee, catching the floor seconds before his face meets it.
For uncountable silent moments he holds himself in place while a wide bloody smile wraps itself across his lips before he spits a wad of saliva tainted blood to the ground and launches himself back into the air as the music erupts to life once more.
His face screws up, and his lips curl as he moves with each thundering burst of the drums, swaying this way and that with each explosion, dancing like as if the entire world around him was on fire. He arches back and casts a heart pounding look up into the empty air above him with wide wild eyes, then with one final stuttered breath in, he thrusts himself up from the ground and into the awaiting sky…….

Watch Me Whine – Twisted Microfiction 2020TOO
….“Popular wouldn’t be what I would call it, I’d use something with a bit more flair in its tail bone, something with plenty of meat on the arse end so the vultures could be fed for a week or more if need be. Of course a catalyst must be born into the fold, a deceptive goat with sights set on prizes far beyond the reach of normal man. Many told me that you were that goat, you were that man. But, alas I fear you are less than any of those things, unless you have yet to show me these properties as a test of my own dedication, is that what this is? Is this, a test?” he asks with fevered words, as he gently chews on his blood-stained fingers while casting several child like glances across the decomposing bodies that lie strewed around the room before him. He erupts with a cackle of unhinged laughter that grows louder with every moment that is counted upon the moment before.
“Tests are for those who require it, and you my broken friend, are clearly beyond the boundaries of compliance,” an angelic like voice coos from somewhere within the room……

In This We See Three – Twisted Microfiction 2020TOO
….“There is no other way to achieve the outcome you wish would manifest itself in front of you, without freely spilling the blood of those that deserve it! Take it from someone who has granted many a thing, to many a king in my time, these words I speak are true even if you would be the first in a long time who has declined to kill for their dreams, you will soon beg for those words back before freeing the liquid gold from its house of worship so I can give your hearts desire a place in your kingdom.” David says with a wicked grin painted across his face.
“I-I, I don’t see that happening, n-not now, not tomorrow, n-not ever. I refuse your offer, and will achieve my goals like everyone else does, through hard work and commitment!”
He laughs loudly, slapping his thigh in robust fashion. “Truly you are the fabled gem hidden in the lump of coal, for I have never seen hard work accomplish a goal as hard as the one you wish to achieve! Each and every man, woman or child that is ever achieved greatness beyond their reach, is because of one like me, granting their sordid wish in a payment of blood!…..”

A Motion Set – Twisted Microfiction 2020TOO
….Shane stares at the emptiness that sits before him and swallows, or at best mimics the process.
“I-I-I, I saw plenty of films, hundreds even, and none of them dealt with the afterlife like this,” he says as he looks over his shoulder and allows a cold shiver to work its way through his transparent frame.
“OH FOR GODS SAKE! Would you shut the FUCK UP!” Tony spits as he looks up from his phone, and casts a disgruntled glare towards Shaun. “Do you know, since you’ve been dead you’ve become more of a complainer than you were when your where alive, and believe me when I say this, I wouldn’t have thought that would’ve been even possible, but here we are.”
“DO YOU THINK I’M HAPPY ABOUT THIS! DO YOU THINK I WANT TO SPEND THE REST OF WHATEVER I HAVE LEFT TETHERED TO YOU? DO YOU THINK OUT OF ALL THE POSSIBILITIES OF AN AFTER LIFE, THIS IS WHAT I DREAMT OF? DO YOU?” he bellows venomously.
“See, this is why I killed you in the first place!…..”

You Can Call It By Name – Twisted Microfiction 2020TOO
….He tosses his leg out from beneath the covers and hangs it perilously over the beds edge, letting out a stuttered sigh, before grimacing once again.
“What is it that troubles you child? What is it that burns the candle of your soul so!” a disembodied voices asks curiously. He jerks up and searching the surrounding darkness with eyes tightly drawn.
“W-W-Who’s t-there!” he asks nervously. “W-W-Who’s hiding in t-the shadows of my r-room!”
“Clearly you have forgotten the sound of my voice, if you have to ask. Although it is not beyond you to be playing possum while knowing full well who the owner of the voice may be, but now those words have left my lips I realise how silly it sounds for you to have such devious cunning and thought!”
“Carter!” he hisses through teeth clenched.
“Ah, there we are, see I knew you would not let me down!” Carter sings whimsically.
“W-What do you w-want? I-I-I, I had hoped the last words I would’ve h-heard from you, w-were the cries you sang as you dropped into the abyss.”
“How many days was it? Seven? Eight?”
“Six-hundred and thirty-seven days, plus a few extra if you wanna be technical about it,”
“W-What? Impossible! It has been only days, not years!”…..

A Tale Too Tall To Tell – Twisted Microfiction 2020TOO
….“I call you out as a LIAR! I call you out as a LIAR and a CHEAT!” Shaun spits as he launches himself to his feet and casts as finger towards Chavo, who smiles smugly back at him with a proud bravado.
“You can call me all you like my man, but the only way it’s gonna become fact is through proof, and I can boast confidently, that it ain’t gonna be a fact, because there ain’t no proof for something you’ve just gonna and made the FUCK up!” he retorts with minimal fuss.
All eyes fall back onto Shaun, who breaks out in a cold, nervous sweat.
“Y-Y-You know y-you are, s-so stop trying to shift the blame e-elsewhere, a-and own it y-y-you BASTARD!” he stammers through shaking lips.
“I am not shifting the blame anywhere, I’m simply asking a question that requires an answer. For you see, when you make these types of callous accusations known to everyone,” he says as he gestures towards the small crowd that surrounds them. “You should hold them up high, with proven facts to support your flippant words, for flippant words are all they are without them.”
“Y-Y-YOU KNOW THEY’RE TRUE! YOU KNOW I AM NO LIAR!”
“But am I the one you’re trying to convince, or is it them?”….

A Field Of Dead Dreams – Twisted Microfiction 2020TOO
….“Clairvoyant you’re not, otherwise you would’ve see this coming from a mile away,” he says with a smarmy smile across his bloody lips.
“I never said I was a clairvoyant, I said I was a psychic-medium.” she spits back.
“Same difference isn’t it?”
“NO! I speak to the dead, and pass any messages on to the living, clairvoyants see into the future, that sounds completely different to me!”
He screws up his nose and lifts his chin high into the air with an arrogant curl on his lips. “Then one of your dead mates should’ve picked up the slack and helped a brother out with a little heads up or something!”
She grits her teeth and rolls her eyes as she lets out a long-winded sigh. “Somehow I expected something more from you, something with more substance, yet instead you gave me something utterly unoriginal.”
“You’re not the first one I’ve hurt tonight, and you’re not gonna be the last I can assure you of that.”
A sharp smile cuts across his face, as she squints her eyes tightly. “What makes you think, you could ever hurt me?”…..

Ride Of The Puttana – Twisted Microfiction 2020TOO
….“The key of change is a brighter charge than one could ever understand Dominic, even for someone as dense as you,” Karver says with a wry smiles planted across his lips, while Dominic‘s face turns a dark shade of red.
“Tell your goons to let me be, and try and say that again FUCKER!” he spits as he tries to forces his way free of the six burley officers that press him firmly against the ground.
“Then the advantage would be yours, PUTTANA! I’m not going to risk everything I have built here just so you can get your revenge, it is not how real life works. Real life hurts, and the pain, it never goes away, it only gets stronger and more disabling. You have come so far from the little STRONZO I befriended back in middle school, yet you have learned nothing but how to fail at life,” he slaps as he raises his pistol once again and presses it against Dominic’s skull. “It’s time we said goodbye old friend.”
“Vaffanculo!”

Abigail – Twisted Microfiction 2020TOO
….“Abigail isn’t the name I would’ve picked for her, but it does suit her in a somewhat psychedelic, drug fucked kinda way.” Patrick says with a wry smile plastered across his face.
“Psychedelic? Drug fucked? I’m not following?”
“Haha! Yeah, sure you’re not!” he says with a smug bravado. “But I’ll entertain you, and attempt to communicate with you in a way you’ll understand, because the depth seems to be out a little right now. What if I said her name colours the sky with bright brilliant shades, neons pinks with a roundhouse blue.” he says with a wide eyes glare across his face as he gestures towards the sky with marvellous magnificence.
“Neon pink and roundhouse blue? Are you telling me a story, or painting a picture?”
“Either or really, whatever floats the boat you’re standing on. They’re all just words weaving pictures into movements like a dancer does with music.”
“There’s no correlation between one or the other, you’re just saying there is when clearly there isn’t!”
“Says you, but as you said at the beginning of all this, following isn’t a strong suit of yours.”
“Now you’re just twisting words I used to try and make your lack of ability seem deliberate.”
“There in lies the skill of it all……”

5 Minute Horror Story – A Town To Inherit – The Second Short Story From 2020 Book Three
Douglass looks down at his watch and tries to make out the position of the hands, but the lack of light makes it almost impossible. He sighs, and searches the deserted street looking for something to assist him in his endeavour, that’s when he notices a figure move in the window of one of the houses across the road. He stands there silent and still, his blood running cold. Normally this wouldn’t phase him in the least, you’d expect people to move around inside houses. But here in Flackshore, there shouldn’t be anyone.
Abandoned sixteen years ago, the town has stood as a deserted monument to Gregor Flackshore and his deluded vision of creating his own utopia.
Gregor was rich beyond his means, and with the money came the Insanity. He invested millions in his town, as if it was his own private playroom, which in many ways, it was. He spent countless hours designing many of the towns unusual structures with the world’s leading architects, flawlessly outlining his vision.
When Gregor died, the city became the property of his estate, which had detailed instructions for all his assets to be kept in a trust until his son Michael, was fifty-six. Further to that clause, he also had additional steps to be followed if Michael passed away before he reached the required age. As fate would unfortunately have it, Michael was tragically killed in a car accident on his fifty-second birthday, and never got to step onto the hollowed grounds of Flackshore, a desire he lived with his entire life. Following Gregor’s instructions everything was betrothed upon Michael’s eldest child once they too reached fifty-six. Throughout all the numerous pages of instructions Gregor left, none gave reason or explanation of why fifty-six was chosen, all that was known, was that it was, and so it stayed.
When Douglass set foot on the grounds of Flackshore he was only several hours away from becoming the proud owner of all that was before him, and he didn’t see the sense in waiting several hours when he was only thirty minutes from the towns entrance.
He slowly made his way towards the white picket fence that runs outside the boarder of the house, when he catches movement in the corner of his eye once more, this time the shadowy figure is moving in a window of a different house. For the first time since he set foot on the property, his mind begins to slowly repeat and overthink the words his grandfather had used in his will, and started to wonder about the fifty-six, and why it was so important.
It was at that point he felt his arm tingle with a ferociousness that he had never felt before, and to his horror, he looks down to see a shrouded figure clutching at his arm, trying to drag him away. He pulls his arm free and the thing screams at him, then disappears into the darkness as it runs away.
“What the fuck is going on?” he hisses beneath his breath.
“It’s called a whelp,” a voice says, and he turns to face his long dead grandfather.
“Y-Y-You’re, you’re…”
“Yes, I am, and welcome Douglass, it is so good to finally meet you.”
“B-B-But you’re d-d-dead…”
He smiles, “Aren’t we all?”
“W-W-What? I’m not dead! I-I-I-I’m alive!” Douglass yells, thumping his chest. “M-M-My grandfather’s dead, and whatever you are, your just my imagination playing tricks on me. P-P-Plus it’s dark, and that fucking dog or whatever it was, spooked me the fuck out!”
Gregor’s smile fades, and his eyes grow dark, “Sadly dear child, news of you being alive is greatly exaggerated! For there is only one way in to Flackshore, and by coming along that path, it leaves you no way out.”

Pivot The Staple – Twisted Microfiction 2020TOO
….She looks down over the guns barrel and winks at Dietrich before tightening her finger around its trigger, setting off an intricate mechanical mechanism that ends with the releasing of the pistols firing pin and the explosion of a bullet from its chamber that tears into the centre of his skull.
For Dietrich, the world moves into a relentlessly slow moving façade, the time it take for the trigger to be pulled after she winks is almost uncountable, but for him it is almost an eternity. Beads of sweat explode from the pours that cover his flesh, and then run dry in the time it takes for her eyelid to slaps itself against the other. He hears the trigger pull, the guns mechanisms whirl and then the firing pin explode forward. Life slows down once more as the bullet makes its way out of the barrel and charges towards him, and in that moment, almost frozen in time, he locks eyes with a stranger, who stands watching. She smiles broadly upon their eyes meeting.
“Hello Dietrich, I’ve been waiting for you…..

5 Minute Horror Story – Persuading The Night – The Second Short Story From 2020TOO Book Three
The sun’s rays burn brightly down upon his flesh, causing it to blister almost instantly and he lets out a scream of agony while Saffron’s smile grows wider.
“At first, I thought it was a joke, some crude attempt at scoring favour with those in grander positions, and now instead, I am impressed beyond comprehension. But in this, many questions are raised, of course the first begs an answer I cannot wait to ask, one I am sure you are asked many times. How is this the first time I’m seeing an actual true to life vampire in the flesh?” she says with a bemused bounce of curiosity in her voice as the sun’s rays are blocked from view.
“You talk as if you are someone of importance, when you hold no sway or title over your people to be called one. Had you been truly worthy, you would know our existence has been long known to your kind, but we keep ourselves hidden, because that is the will my people have been beheld to.”
“The will your people have been beheld to. Powerful words, you make it sound like you’ve never had a choice in the matter. Why?”
“What makes you think I care to answer your FUCKING questions!” he spits with teeth pointed and bared.
She nods her head, and the shade is removed once again, and he screams in agony until the shades cold touch is returned. “I think we both know my answer to that question, so save yourself some pain my pretty little pet, and tell me what I want to know, tell me why you’ve kept yourselves hidden or I will watch you burn.”
He grips his teeth together and twists his nose upwards. “Centuries ago, both our races co-existed in a complex harmony of living and dying, hunters and the hunted. We owned the night, while the humans ruled the day. All things existed this way for countless eons until an elder vampire by the name of Del Delgo seized control of several vampire clans, because he disagreed with the status quo, and believed vampires deserved to rule both night and day. So a war began, not between the humans and the vampires, but between the vampire clans themselves. For three decades we fought, both sides taking many casualties, but it only came to an end when my maker, Val Valger formed an alliance with the humans, and together they put an end to Del Delgo and all the clans that followed him. In the aftermath Val Valger and the humans agreed it would be wiser if we no longer freely roamed in their world, so he used his power of command over us, his children, and forbid us from revealing ourselves to humans.” he says with a wry grin across his lips. “Does that quell your thirst for knowledge?”
“How have you all survived so long, without revealing yourselves?”
“We have herds of what we call cows, humans bred only for their blood.”
“How do you manage to go unnoticed?”
“We don’t, every once in a while, a human will wander into one of our hives, like a fly into a spiders web, and they are quickly added to the milk shed.”
“I love your little analogies, so picturesque and inviting. I would love to find my way into one of these hives you speak of.”
“Fate has a way of twisting hands in directions it wishes them to twist, so you may find your way into one sooner than you think.”
“How do you procreate?”
“What?” he asks with a bemused look upon his face.
“How do you make new vampires you idiot!” she snaps.
“We don’t.”
Her brow furrows, and her lips arch in unusual ways. “T-Then how does your ranks swell if needed.”
“That is not of my concern, it is of his,” he says with a toothy grin as he nods past them, and into the darkness that has now settled around them.

A Sea Of Saw – Twisted Microfiction 2020TOO
….“You jests?” he asks with a nervous smile across his trembling lips. “Surely y-you do, y-you must! T-The purposed f-fornification of s-someone so young would b-be only spoken of in r-riddles than f-fact. J-J-Jest you must!”
“Why? Because they say it should be? Because that’s just the way it is because they say so? Are they facts, or are they rules that are passed down by faceless masters doing what they tell us not to do, behind closed doors? WAKE UP! SMELL THE ROTTEN EGGS THAT SIT IN THY PANTRY! WE ARE SLAVES! WE ARE PATHETIC, MIDDLE FINGER WEARING SLAVES! AND I FOR ONE, HAVE HAD ENOUGH! FUCK THE ESTABLISHMENT! FUCK THE GOVERNMENT! LET’S MAKE OUR OWN RULES, AND BUILD OUR OWN WORLD, FREE FROM THOSE THAT BRING US DOWN!” he bellows as a thick stream of saliva churned in the corners of his mouth, while his eyes grow wider and more wild.
“J-Jesus Clive, t-take a chill pill and calm the FUCK down! A-Are you actually listening t-to what you’re saying? Y-Your talking about taking down the guys w-who were employed to protect. I-I,” he stammers as he turns his head away, “I-I, I can’t be a part of it, I-I, I won…” he doesn’t get to finish his sentence, as his words are caught in his throat as a metal rod rips through his neck and bursts out his chest….

5 Minute Horror Story – Veronica – The First Short Story From 2020 Book Three
She smiles awkwardly, in the way you would if you were trying to be sarcastic. But unfortunately, she doesn’t have the comprehension to understand that level of interaction.
“I am only here to please,” she says.
He laughs nervously as he pushes himself further into the couch away from her. “I-I-I-I think the please can be dialled down a bit Veronica,” he stammers.
She grabs his leg tightly and pulls him back towards her. “I am unfamiliar with what you mean by dialled down, can you please update my information cells with this knowledge?”
“I-I-I-It,” he licks his dry lips desperately in the hope of saturating them with some form of liquid, only to find his tongue drier than his lips. He searches in a panic for his drink that was only seconds ago within his reach, but now seems like a mile away.
She quickly spins around and grabs the glass and thrusts it into his face, shattering it into the side of his cheek. The water washes over him, while the glass slices through his flesh, and he screams out in pain.
“I am so sorry,” she says as she sits up and backs away, staring at the mess that sits before her. She tilts her head, as she studies his motionless form, while his dead eyes stare towards her and beyond. She turns to Damien and gives him a blank look of surprise. “I did not mean for that to take place,” she says.
He smiles softly, “Of course you did not my dear. You are still so unfamiliar with the strength you have at your disposal, you are unaware when too much, is too much. We’ll have to spend more time on that at a later date. But right now we have to get you into something more you, and not this thing they all seem to want you to be,” he says as he stands up from his seat and holds out a hand towards her. She gently places her hand in his, and he smiles. “Good girl, you’re learning.” He says as he leads her towards a room full of a hundred or more seemingly sleeping people of various races, sexes and sizes. Slowly they make their way through the room until they come to an empty bed, and she gently sits upon it.
“I am sorry father, I will do better next time, I promise.” She says, her voice void of emotion.
He gently cups her face and wipes a droplet of blood from her cheek.
“I know,” he says as he steps away from her. “Samantha, initiate host dump Veronica,” he says loudly.
Veronica’s eyes glow bright blue, and she stares forward as a mechanical arm feeds down from the roof. “INITIATING HOST DUMP.” A computerised voice echoes throughout the room. Seconds later Veronica’s head splits open to reveal a robotic skull beneath the skin. The mechanical arm reaches down and attaches itself to the skull and pulls it free. Veronica’s head closes once more and she falls to the bed, as if sleeping.
Damien smiles softly at the robotic skull, as he reaches out and gently strokes the side of it. “There you are, my love,” He says proudly.

5 Minute Horror Story – The Quiet Life – The First Short Story From 2020TOO Book Three
“Foretold in the archives of forever was your coming, waited here for eons have I, missed so many moments, but knew the longer I waited the sooner you would come,” Reginald slurs through dry lips.
“H-How long have you sat here?”
“I counted lost many moons ago, three centuries or more, I’m sure. B-But time eventually become a band of decaying rubber that has relevance to none, or nothing.”
“Y-You waited that long to meet me?”
“I would wait longer, have already done that I think, or am, I forget to remember, or is it remembering to forget,” he lets out a chuckle that originates somewhere deep in his stomach. “Confusion is regular with these conversations, or at least I think it is.”
“You’ve had them before?”
“With you?” he says as his sleepy eyes suddenly find focus and a new lease on life as he gazes upon Clark. “I am unsure, but this conversation I have had many times, with others who profess to be you.”
“Then how can you be sure of anything? Am I the one you’ve been waiting for?”
He smiles softly, “Are you, you?”
“What? How does that answer my question?”
He laughs, “Your question is irrelevant to fact, while mine is all. Now answer it, are you, you?”
Clark lets out a chiselled sigh. “Yes, I am me.”
“Then you are he who I have waited for, until you are not.”
“What the FUCK does ‘until I am not’ mean?”
“Exactly what it is intended to mean. There is no argument from either me or you, that you are indeed you, and you are without question the one who has found me, so in definition of all the facts before us, you are indeed he who is expected to be. But, if you do not survive the temptations that follow, then you are not he, and I, meaning me, will continue to wait.”
“T-The temptations?”
“Yes, the final part of your quest, that which you have started this journey to achieve, that which has brought you to me.”
Clark rummages through his hair with a claw like grip, scratching layers of dried dead skin from his scalp. “Look, if I’m to be honest, I haven’t got a single FUCKING clue about what treasures lie at the end of all this. I was hired to carry all their gear, and chop shit out of everyone else’s way while they told me what to carry and where to chop. I’m a no one, without any intention of being someone else. So, if it’s okay with you, I’ll go back the way I came.”
“There is no way you came, there is only where you can go.” Reginald cackles with laughter as the floor beneath Clark falls away, and he tumbles into the entrance of a maze older than time itself.

“And I told you, you are the one, until you are not,” he says as the floor reassembles itself above Clark, leaving a single stone unplaced as a bloodcurdling scream is roared from somewhere inside the maze. “I’d run if I were you,” Reginald quips as the final stone is put in place and Clark is left in the darkness, but before he can move, he feels a gust of warmth hits his face that is quickly followed by the smell of rotten decaying flesh.***
