Splintered,
broken,
pieces of someone else,
someone old,
someone I no longer know,
who I was,
not who I am,
broken,
splintered,
across the floor,
scattered,
pieces,
of who I was,
of who I’ll never be again.

Splintered,
broken,
pieces of someone else,
someone old,
someone I no longer know,
who I was,
not who I am,
broken,
splintered,
across the floor,
scattered,
pieces,
of who I was,
of who I’ll never be again.

Darkness,
lost within,
slipping,
drowning,
dying inside,
changing,
twisting,
turning,
reaffirming,
becoming something new,
someone different,
something more,
than I was before,
than you could ever know,
and one day you’ll see,
everything I can be,
and you’ll think,
what could’ve been.

As we turn the corner and near the end of the blogs tenth month, I’ve began to reflect upon what has come before, and in a strange twist of fate, fallen on something interesting. Over the next sixty odd days Case Files will continue to mount, as we see what became of some of our characters and the stories they inhabited, not all worked out, the way some wished….
I hope you like to read with the light on, because the road is dark ahead….

“Are you trying to be funny?”
The voice laughs, “If I was trying to be funny, I’d make some smart-arsed comment like, aren’t you hot in all those clothes. I’d says I was being, more, pointing out the obvious.”
“What do you want?”

“Thirty years, ever since the killings no ones been anywhere near this place, too many bad vibes, and the fact he was never caught,” the other replies.
“That’s what I don’t get Francis, you say it was a he, but why couldn’t it have been a she?”
Francis laughs, “Really?”

Somewhere, out there, they’re waiting, waiting for each and everyone of us.
You think I’m lying?
Trust me, I’m not. I’ve seen them, out there, in the shadows, their faces disfigured, their bodies twisted beyond that which we could do ourselves, they are the wasted, the rabid things that haunt the outskirts of our world, and they are coming for us.
You don’t see them?
You don’t hear their raspy cries for air, as they try to suck in breath after breath of nothing, wanting only to fear upon what we are, don’t you hear it?
You think I’m crazy, don’t you?
You think I’ve lost my mind, but you’re wrong, I see clearly, my eyes are no longer sugar coated like they once were, I now see everything, and all.
Do you want to as well?
Do you want to see the beast that hide in the darkness waiting to strike?
Do you want to be free?
Then let go, sit before me, and take all that I am inside you. Let me empty myself down into your stomach, where I will impregnate your seed with my spark, and then, you will be as I am, you will see as I do, and then we will fight the beasts together, and we will win!
So, kneel, and open yourself up for to enter.
But be warned, once you have taken me inside you, there is no going back, there is no halting the change, for they will know you are one like me, and they will come for you. So, choose wisely…

“How many times do I need to tell you?How many different ways can I explain it?” He says, slumping back into the chair, letting out a breath of exhausted air from his lungs.
“Until I understand,” she says.
“Look lady,” he says as a nervous smile comes on his face.

The day was glorious, as the sun beat down, onto the family, as they splashed all around.
A day at the beach, a day in the sun, a day of adventure, a day full of fun.
Laney was running, searching for shells in the sand, while Stella her dog, was attempting to give her a hand.
She barked, and she leapt in the air like a loon, she crouched at the ready, and howled as if at the moon.
Laney laughed, she giggled with glee, as she went running to Stella, to see what she could see.
It was a curious shell, that sparkled in the sun, all the colors of the rainbow, flickering one, by one.
They looked at each other, smiling both broadly, suddenly, surprisingly, the shell moves oddly.
Laney, she shrieked, Stella let out a yelp, as the shell moved miraculously, without any help.
Slowly but surely, the shell moved away, towards the water, but Stella, wanted to play.
She barked, and she leapt in the air like a loon, she crouched at the ready, and howled as if at the moon.
Laney laughed, as the shell scuttled away, zigging and zagging, this way, and that way.
Then Stella, she pounced on the shell, landing on top, bring it to, a sudden stop.
Stella wagged her tail, she barked, and she howled, as something slowly, poked its head out of the shell.
It was yellow and red, with antennas on its head.
It had a body made of amour, and five seats of legs, with big pinches on the front two, kinda like clothes pegs.
It popped out of the shell, and ran into the sea, swimming away, until it, they could no longer see.
SO..
Stella barked, and she leapt in the air like a loon, she crouched at the ready, then howled as if at the moon.
While..
Laney ran, giggling away, looking for more things, enjoying the day.

“No, not like you have, I’ve had family members die, naturally but not, not in the way you lost yours.”
“There’s nothing natural about death woman, it’s the most unnatural thing we as humans face, we live with the constant fear of death, letting it control every thing we are.”

We laughed constantly, we fucked like rabbits, I knew I loved her instantly.
But the clouds moved in quick, I saw something else, something I’d never seen, and then came the welts.
At first they were itchy, then they began to ache, painful, and then my skin started to flake.

The Players so far..
Zander Kane, once a trusted and highly decorated general for the United Federation, Kane betrayed not only his own race, but his own flesh and blood to join the Dark Collective, so he could be with the woman he loved. Now, he rides stardust and slipstreams, captaining the Betha, fighting for the collective, in hope of one day freeing the worlds from the federations ruling grasp.
Gadamrie, a Golden Priestess in the Dark Collective, who before the federation came to power boasted over one million hosts as part of her mind hive.
Syin-To-Twenty-Seven (Sin), Betha’s sentient companion, through the link they share Sin can control and communicate between Betha and Zander, as well as accessing and sometimes controlling other forms of technology.
Touvler, Zander’s right hand man and Betha’s co-pilot, Touvler along with two others joined Zander when he defected from the United Federations to the Dark Collective.
General Salidazar, an officer in the Dark Collective, who’s loyalties, may lie somewhere else.
High Priestess Dankika, leader of the Dark Collective, a maker, a being who exists across multiple realities.
High Lord Quinn, Commander for the United Federation, and a Quadrapled, a slang term for a clone. Quinn’s past is still yet to be revealed, but his past association with Zander Kane makes his story more of a mystery.
President Balmires, the current elected president of the united federation, Balmires’ rise to power is one worth of it’s own story, soaked in blood and betrayal.
Zander and the crew of Betha find themselves requested by the High Priestess, once touching down, he comes face to face with General Salidazar, who has other plans for Zander. Gadamrie intervened spoiling his plans, as the High Priestess arrived and attempted to quell the already explosive situation, to, no positive end, until…
And so, we continue…
“Today, you are lucky, tomorrow, might be different,” she says, as she release her grip, and allows him to topple backwards onto the ground, she turns to Danakia and in unison, all twelve bow. “Your highness,” she says with a wry smile, before boarding Betha.
“Zander, I still require your attendance,” Danakia yells out.
“Blow it out your gas pipe, we’re heading home, like in the plan,” Zander replies, as he turns and heads up the ramp.
“This involves your unborn child,” she says quickly, Zander stops on the walkway and slowly turns his head towards her, before slowly looking over to Gadamrie, then back to Danakia.
“I’m sorry, I think you’ve got me confused for someone who cares what you have to say,” Zander says, his hands clenched into fists.
“Then, why are you still standing on the platform, and not leaving me to, as you said, blow it out my gas pipe?”
“Sarcasm, is something I rarely hear from you,” Zander says, as he looks back over to Gadamrie once again, and he nods his head, “You want to talk to me, then, they come with me, and Salidazar, stays the hell away!”
“You are in no position…”
“Then screw you,” Zander says, as he turns and walks back up the ramp.
“WAIT!” Danakia yells out, as Zander smiles to himself before turning around once more. “Salidazar stays, but, they may come, but, only the female, not the male,” she says, point to Gadamrie.
Zander laughs, “If Salidazar stays, Touvler comes as well.”
“This is not a negotiation, the inform…”
“If this isn’t a NEGOTIATION, why the hell are we negotiation?” Zander says, as he turns once more and continues again, up the ramp.
“You humans are stubborn!” Danakia yell.
“Why do you think we’re almost extinct?” Zander says as he reaches the top of the ramp.
“Okay Kane, bring you’re Sumarian.”
He smiles broader this time, turning, and clapping his hands together, “See, and you said this wasn’t a negotiation.”
“SIR,” Sin’s voice screeches into his head.
“OW!” Zander yells, slamming a palm against the side of his head.
“Sorry, I require you’re presence in the communication room, we have, a strange signal looping into Betha and my systems.”
“Can it wait? Danakia has info…”
“Sir, I am sorry, but, the information, to some level, involves the High Priestess, and, yourself, information, that Betha and I believe you shoul…”
“Can you patch it through the interlink?”
“Well, yes, of course, but…”
“Do it, and let me make my mind up.”
“Yes, well, give me a moment,” Sin says, as Zander stands silently at the top of the ramp.
“Kane? Are you listening to me?” Danakia asks.
He holds up a hand in answer, “One minute sweets, I’ve got something happening that requires my…” He stops mid sentence as the messages plays over his interlink.
“Zander, I know this is going to be hard to believe, but, it’s all true, everything, I’m you, well not you exactly, another version from another reality, another timeline, but that’ll all have to wait because none of that matters right now. What matters is you don’t let them know about the child, no matter what you have to do, hide it from them, all, it’s important… Don’t trust the High Priestess, she’s something more than you know, a maker, a first, some crazy cross dimensional being who wants your child of dead, so you have to stop her, come to the coordinates twelve, eighteen dot b, nine, eight, dot L two, three, two, dot D three, three, three, two dot twenty-seven and you’ll see I’m telling the truth. And while you’re at it, kill that weasel Salidazar, he a traitor and deserves it.”
For a few moments he stands in silence, his mouth open, his eyes, wide.
“H-H-How in the hell?” He mutters.
“That is currently unknown sir,” Sin replies.
“How legit is it?”
“Well, if you are asking if the voice is yours, both Betha and myself have matched it to your own, without fault.”
“So, so it’s one hundred percent on the money?”
“If you are saying, should we believe what you are telling us? We do not have the answer for that.”
“That’s good enough, shut the door,” he says as he looks over to Gadamrie, who tilts her head to the side, as she tries to read what he is thinking, then, her eyes widen, as he pulls his blaster free and fires a shot into Saladizar’s skull.
TO BE CONTINUED

“Are you sure? Are you really, really sure?” She asks, her gaze make his stomach twist and turn for a few moments, before settling again.
“Of….” He stops and clears his throat, swallowing a mouthful of saliva, squinting his eyes and holding a hand up to his throat as he does. “O-Of course I bloody well am, months of planning, not to mention the nine years my sister lost because of that sleazy pieces of shit, let’s just do it!” He blurts out, she smiles, as she brushes a hand against his cheek.
“Good, I was worried you were going to get soft on me,” she says, as she lifts his head up by the chin, and looks at him, as if he was a fine diamond and she was the jeweler examining her handiwork, which, is not far from the truth.
“S-S-So?”
“So what?” She asks.
“So am I FUCKING ready, or what?”
She laughs, “Honey, you were born ready,” she says, as she steps back and looks him up and down. “I don’t know about him though, he might not be as ready as he thinks he is,” she says, looking over his shoulder, into their reflection in the mirror.
“He won’t be, you just make sure when he confesses you catch it all on tape, I want that fucker to burn by his own words, and then, I’ll let him know who I really am, I just hope he falls for it,” he says, as he stars into their reflections as well.
She grips him tightly by the shoulders and smiles, a faint, distant smile, letting a tear run down her cheek, “He won’t, and he’ll pay, because, if I didn’t know, I’d swear you were your sister.”
END

It was dark and dreary, when he set out on his quest, to rid the demon, at her request.
He’d bathed in blood, he killed them all, and deep within, he knew he was under her thrall.
His sword it glimmered with his true light, even in the darkest of the night.
His pure soul, it screamed out inside, while he killed, pillaged, and raped for her on the outside.
Then the time had come, when he faced the beast, it saw his form, but also, what was underneath.
So it made its play, towards the heros true self, with a promise to keep, to restore his health.
But the hero charged, his lust too hard to resist, for he wanted more, but the beast did persist.
It promised freedom, it promised gold, but most of all, it promised to release her hold.
Its blood burned deep, as he sliced the beast, the hero, his soul, he cared not the least.
He wanted her, upon his shaft, and for that the happen, he needed to be standing last.
The beast fell dead, at his feet, the beast, the tormentor, faced defeat.
The hero rode, back to her side, and she gave him his reward, and then, he died.
So remember this, when you make a deal, for lust is not, really, real.

The day was not hot, the day was not cold, when down the hill, Laney Bean rolled.
with a giggle and a gaggle, a laugh and a cackle, she came to a stop, at the bottom did she flop.
Then Stella the dog, tumbled down after, attacking her feet, to fits of laughter.
And that’s how they played, for the rest of the day, laughing, and screaming, chasing and racing, throwing their cares away.
And when it came time, for the sun to fall from the sky, and the moon to rise way up high.
They laid in the silence, Laney and her dog, until it was broken, by the croak of a FROG.
Stella LEAPT to her feet, Laney did too, and off they ran, towards the croaking, that seemed to be coming from Mum’s watering can.
A few steps away, and the croaking did stop, then out from the can, a large frog did hop.
They sat there in silence, Laney and her dog, staring quite curiously, at the large green frog.
Then, it let out a cry, that made Laney shudder, as another frog appeared, then another, and ANOTHER.
Soon they were surrounded by a HUNDRED or more, when Melvin the cat appeared with a ROAR.
The frogs jumped left, the frogs jumped right, the frogs jumped any which way, trying to get out of sight.
But they were no match for Melvin, who chased them away, into the darkness, like a tiger hunting it’s prey.
And the frogs never came back, after that day, when Melvin the cat, had wanted to play.
When Laney and Stella had, had all that fun, playing outside, in the warm, winters sun.

It was rainy and damp, it was shakily cold, when Stella the dog, saw a sight to behold.
Twas Melvin the cat, who’d sneakily snuck, under the covers, in the back of a truck.
She howled and she hollered, she called him by name, but Melvin the cat, the spot he did claim.
He flicked out his claws, and tore his way in, while Stella the dog, continued to sing.
She sung to the family, with a bark and a howl, she sung to Dad, who let out a growl.
She dropped to the floor, and rolled on her back, she wriggled and wriggled, her way up the mat.
Then once she was sure, she was far enough away, she leapt to her feet, and continued to say.
Melvin the cat, had sneakily snuck, he was hiding from the rain, in the back of a truck.
Mum came out, Laney did too, while she sung them her song, about Melvin the cat, and what he did wrong.
Mum rushed to the door, and called out in vain, then she caught sight of Melvin, hiding in the truck from the rain.
She called out to Dad, and he came running to see, then he growled and moaned, as he banged his right knee.
Mum tried not to laugh, as Dad fell to the floor, and it was then that she noticed, the truck driver slam his door.
Mum ran out, and Stella did to, and they told the driver, what they had to do.
Then quick as a flash, the tarp was pulled back, and Melvin jumped up, ready to attack.
But Stella the dog, she let out a howl, and Melvin the cat, ran away with a scowl.
Then Mum thanked the driver, and rushed back inside, leaving Melvin the cat, with no where to hide.
While Stella the dog, went back to her bed, and as Dad limped by, he patted her head.

With a slash of his tail, and a flick of each ear, Melvin the cat, showed no fear.
He leapt from the tool shed, onto the ground, he sneakily snuck, not making a sound.
He peered through windows, he sniffed under doors, he scratched at the board, that made up the floors.
When he was sure it was safe, and no one was around, he leapt through the cat flap, to see what could be found.
With a purposeful step, he made his way in, shooting though the hallway, and hiding behind a bin.
Suddenly there was a rush, a storming of feet, the family were racing, it was too late to retreat.
But as the minutes passed, and the commotion calmed down, Melvin the cat, courage he had found.
Proudly he pounced, with one aim in hand, to get to his prize, to take that leg of ham.
He jumped on the counter, and grabbed it with glee, but Mum gripped him tightly, for the whole family to see.
He yowled and he hissed, he spat and he clawed, but Mum held him firmly, and thrust him out the door.
All fours did he land, with a thunderous thump, he scampered away, and leapt to the fence with a jump.
He spied through the window, and made a new plan,
for this night was not over,
and
there
was
still
ham.

He sits nervously in the cafe booth, staring into the now, cold cup of coffee, the door swings open and the bell attached rings. He spins quickly around, his eyes wide, frantic, they lock with hers and she smiles, faintly, he leaps from his seat and clutches her close, and leads her back to the booth.
“Thank god you came,” he says, his voice raspy, dry.
“I came as quick as I could, my god Sam, what the hell is going on? You found her didn’t you?”
“Oh god Nancy, if we had time, if I, had time, I’d tell you, but,” he says, staring down at the table, he feels the tears well up in his eyes. “But, I just don’t, just tell you brought it?” He asks, looking back up at her.
She reaches into her handbag and pulls out a yellow folder and places it on the table, before looking back up at him, her eyes show the disappointment she feels, as well as the fear, “Don’t do this Sam, don’t lock me out,” she says, as she reaches out towards him.
“Don’t Nancy, it has to be this way, things, things have happened, and, I have to leave, I have to get far away from here, from….” his words stop in their tracks, as the bell rings again, he spins his head towards the door, as the world seemingly becomes enveloped in darkness, a light, a mist, and then, she stands there, in the doorway, and, for what seems like forever, stays that way.
He feels his heart skip, his mouth becomes dryer than ever before, and, as he swallows, he feels a million or more razor blades rip into his throat, its then that she moves forward, towards him, like a puppet on strings, a staggering, jittery mess of arms, legs, and a torso, all moving separately, but together, and then, her head reveals itself, seeming to leap onto her shoulders from out of the darkness, her mouth open wide, her eyes red raw, dilated, moving frantically around in their sockets, she sways, staggers and stumbles her way to him, until she comes to a stop a few feet from the table.
He feels the sweat run down his brow, his shirt collar tighten around his throat, like hands, and his lungs scream for air, then, she smiles, a jittery, frenzied smile, before reaching out with an arm, as her head falls to rest on her shoulder, an insane smile on her face, as a finger reaches out towards the frozen Sam, and touches his chest lightly.
Nancy sits across from him as he crashes lifelessly to the table, she screams frantically for someone to call an ambulance as she rushes to his side, but she know it’s too late, and like the rest, like everyone else she’s claimed, his face is now marked with her sign, an insane smile.
END

“This is so not what I thought I’d be doing tonight,” he says, as he turns to the girl sitting in the car next to him, she faines a smile and bites down on her bottom lip, before brushing her hair from her face.
“Neither did I,” she says as she turns away, looking out the windscreen. “What are we supposed to do now?”
“We? Five minutes ago you said there was no we, you sai…”
“Don’t, I know what I said, but that’s not what I’m asking, I’m asking what we’re going to do about that,” she says, nodding forward.
He looks towards the windscreen, and swallows, “Oh, yeah, right that,” he says as he runs his hands over his face and let’s out a groan. “Well, I don’t know, I mean, do we have to do anything?”
“Ummm yeah, I think we do, we can’t just, do nothing,” she says sarcastically.
“Well, what do you think we should do?”
“Something, we can’t just sit here ignoring it, what if someone finds out? What if someone saw what happened and use it to try and blackmail us? I’ve seen enough movies and god damn TV shows to know what happens if you try to cover this sort of shit up!” She yells quickly, he sits across from her, eyes twisted, mouth slightly agape, as his mind try’s to make sense of her words.
After a few silent minutes he shakes his head, saliva flicks from his mouth where it had been slowly pooling into as he sat there, “Silvia, what in the hell are you taking about?”
“WHAT THE HELL AM I TALKING ABOUT!” She yells in frustration.
“Yeah, its not like we killed someone, I mean the dudes dead, we didn’t touch him, we only came out here to score some weed.”
“Exactly, we tell someone they’ll know!”
He rolls his eyes in their sockets, “Silvia, you’re like the biggest pot head in town, why should you start worrying what people think now?”
“God Tanner, I’m not talking about buying the pot, I’m talking about us, you dick!”
He sits there for a few more minutes again, before shaking his head in confusion, “What the hell is going on? Are we talking about us, as in you and me as a thing, or us, like, me and you, the ones who just ran over old man Magiure? Because Silvia, I have no idea what’s going on anymore!”
“Dude, I knew you’d cave!” She yells.
