Do Not Punish Me For My Good Deeds

    My petulant child,

    my bringer of doom,

    sinner,

    soul destroyer,

    I’d give my all,

    to own you complete,

    instead of the fragmented beast,

    that resides inside your eyes,

    give in,

    let go,

    make me your king,

and I’ll shower you with blood,

    I’ll bathe you in gold,

    I’ll sacrifice the masses,

    I’ll sacrifice my soul,

    for your touch,

    your kiss,

    your divine hand of rathe,

    reward my sins,

    and forgive my good deeds,

for this is my final peace,

this is what I make to you,

    as my body grows cold.

When The Sky Opened Up And Swallowed Me Whole

    I said softly,

    words never meant,

    but words wanted,

    I corrupted myself,

    for something I never wanted,

    I gave,

    when giving was not needed,

    you there,

    you judge,

    you plot,

    you cannibalize the meaning,

    regurgitate it into something else,

you paint me into the villain,

    when all I ever was,

    was a lost soul,

looking for comfort from the cold.

Through My Mind Does The World Break

    Softly it started,

    like the beginnings of sleep,

    comfortable and relaxed,

    like the world was safe,

    and with that,

    my place in it confirmed,

but that was before the nightmares escaped from my skull,

    and tormented the wicked,

    twisted the  broken,

    temped the strong,

    it wasn’t days,

    but moments,

    from when the nightmares escaped,

    that the word,

    humanity,

    ceased to exist,

    destroyed by self hate.

  • One Love – The Opening Cut

One Love – The Opening Cut

Love doesn’t die quietly—it tears through flesh screaming.

A grieving man refuses to accept the horrifying truth about the woman he loves, even as the world around him collapses into violence, bloodshed, and desperation. Trapped inside a storm-soaked home filled with death, fear, and decaying memories, Samuel clings to the fragile hope that love can survive even the most monstrous transformation. One Love is a bleak and deeply human horror story about obsession, denial, sacrifice, and the terrifying lengths people will go to for the ones they cannot let go.

He swings the shovel wildly towards the two men, sending blood and dirt spraying from the blade and splashing into the rain-soaked ground.

“I told you to go! I won’t tell you AGAIN!” he yells.

“Samuel! For fuck’s sake, son, she’s gone, and what’s left ain’t her ANYMORE! You have to let us do what must be done. Can’t you see you’re endangering everyone with this madness?” his father yells back, narrowly avoiding the edge of the shovel as Samuel swings it violently towards him again.

“You’re WRONG! You’re all wrong! She’s still in there, I can see it!

Twisted Roads – An Anthology Of Twisted Tales – Volume One

Today we’re doing something new, launching the first collection of short stories that once found their home here, on this blog. The thirty-one short stories have been reworked, edited and cleaned up, so they are, what I hope, the best version of themselves they can be, along with a super awesome cover designed by YAZGAR as you can see here.

Included in the collection is a new story, written especially for the collection. I hope if you all have a chance you’ll venture over and have a pursue of the collection, maybe even buy a copy, or, if you’re feeling crazy, you can sign up to the mailing list below, and receive a free copy!

    The Kids Love It

The car comes to a screeching halt, smashing into the side of another, forcing it off the road and down into a ditch, voices cry out, followed by an explosion.

He stands overlooking the carnage, watching with bewildering eyes, his bottom lip quivers, as one of his hands slowly reaches up and grasps his chest. The burning sensation that he had coursing through his body only seconds ago, is now non-existent. But he doesn’t question why, as he knows the reason, for he can see it in his own dead, empty eyes that stare towards him.

“OKAY, THAT’S A WRAP!” He hears yelled a few feet away. Slowly he casts his eyes towards seven men, men he never noticed before, standing, watching, with what looks like cameras, microphones, and other filming equipment.

    “H-H-H-Hello?” he says softly.

One of the men looks over to him, nods and smiles, then turns back to packing up his equipment.

“HELLO?” He says again, louder this time.

“Don’t be put off by Klause, he’s one of those artists,” a voice says from behind him, he turns to face a skinny man, mid-thirties, long scraggly hair, holding what looks to be a boom mic…

“Kyle, for god sake, you’ve got to come and have a look, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life if you don’t, always wondering what they looked like out in the open,” he says, Kyle turns over and stares at Lincoln, who’s smile stretches from one ear to the other.

  • Daily Grind – Lies, Deceit and The Truth, Finally

Daily Grind – Lies, Deceit and The Truth, Finally

I have tales to tell, tales of missed opportunities, lost love, grave mistakes and, acts of unspeakable horror. But first, I must address the sanity and heartache that has been lost over this site, the bitterness of lies, and, ultimately the betrayal.

My name is Marty Towns, and, Matthew Tonks stole everything on this site, made it his own, fooling all who believed he was the one who created all these stories, all these character, scheduling weeks ahead, digging through old stories he found in workbooks I though I lost long ago, until someone showed me this site.

Now, finally after months of legal battles, he lost his fight, he lost control of this site, he lost control, because he never had it. Over the next few days, you will see things change, as I reshape what he has done to my works, and build MY legacy, removed from the imposter.

I ask all you loyal readers to please stick with me, and trust, the deceit Matthew forced upon you will be washed away, with a new dawn, with more powerful stories, and a reignited passion that will continue well past the final days.

I don’t know when I first noticed it, the coldness, outside the air was warm, beautiful in fact, I could’ve stripped down to nothing, and still felt like I had too many clothes on, but, inside the house, it was cold, and I mean dead cold.

Nothing I could do would make it anymore than that, I even had the heat pump checked, you know, just to make sure it was working, the guys who came to have a look at it, gave me a strange look, like I was crazy, but, once they came in, and felt the coldness themselves, they understood what I was talking about.

They pulled that fucking thing apart, checked every piece of it, for any possible fault, but, found nothing wrong with it at all, so, eventually, after a few solid hours of searching, all they could do was charge me for their time, and leave…

  • 11 Months, 700 Posts And A Slight Tick In My Left Eye – Daily Grind

11 Months, 700 Posts And A Slight Tick In My Left Eye – Daily Grind

11 Months has come, and gone, as you are reading this, 11 months of insanity, we are almost at our destination my dears, and what does that mean you all ask?

It’s a question I myself ask as well, after doing this for so long, it seems like second nature, to prepare something each day, to fool around with some silly idea that’s rushing around in my head and stamp it out, somewhere, into the world, for people I may never really know, to read, and, in some instances enjoy.

11 months, did I think I’d get this far?

I’m not entirely sure really, I know I started with time devoted each and everyday to attack the challenge of the day, over the course of the blog, it’s become harder, and time is now randomised, sometimes it even happens mer minutes before the post is due, and I just close my eyes and type, but, that’s not the only thing that’s changed, remember YouChallenges?

Those were story ideas given to me by readers, and my job was to write a story around the word, or sentence that I was given, then I played with the Daily Prompt, still do every now and then, then, well,  then we had the 50 Word Story, and then the Expanded version posted later in the day, they still appear from time to time when I have, the time, wow, way too many time’s in that sentence.

What else? We had the Whispered Words morph into Wrapped In Words, we had the Roundhead beat the hell out of Halloween, which, by the way, is still the best period the blog ever had, was it all the content I was doing around then? Was it the unashamed promotion of the Roundhead event? Who knows, but, I haven’t had time to work on something the same way.

Bad Day became an idea I really liked, fucked it up and reset a lot of the story and well, I haven’t looked back since then, and it’s still not over.

We’ve got Dark Stars popping up once again, sci-fi, I still remember people saying, you’re writing sci-fi? Really? Why? Well I decided to start the year off differently, and hell, I’ve enjoyed it, and, if I can, I’ll get the ‘last’ story out of the way before we reach ZERO.

Fuck, what happens when we hit ZERO?

    Something Terrible, I’m sure.

Will the car keep burning down the road, or will it pull over for a much needed rest?

Only time will tell, but, one thing I know, once the blog hit’s ZERO, there will be a few things breaking out of the wood works, a few things, I still haven’t had a chance to fine tune, but will find the time before we stop.

So, thanks for reading, thanks for sharing this time with me, and to some, thanks for becoming my friend, and, if you are now, or have done for the last 11 months, for the last 700 post, read and comment, thanks to you too, now, lets see how many more I can hit before we get to the end of this motherfucker.

    Cheers,

And remember, keep the lights on, because you never want to be caught with them out,

your light I mean, get your head out of the gutter!

    Matt

“Never, no one is innocent, everyone of these fucks has sin on their souls, and they’ll all pay the price, so is my word, so, it shall be!” He says, gripping the blade tightly as he slashes it into the air violently, coming to a stop in front of his face, he feels the sweat run down his brow, his eyes, grow wide, as he stares into Damien’s hateful eyes, slowly, he reaches a nervous hand up to the blade, and pushes it away.

“Steady on there sunshine, I’m not the enemy here…

He smiles, “Good, because, what we’re about to do, requires you to do exactly what I say, when I say it. You can’t stop and think, you can’t wonder why, you just have to move, no thinking, no stopping, just one, flowing, unrelenting, movement, do you understand?”

“I understand Kevin, and, I trust you,” she says as she places her hand out for him to take, he looks down at her hand, then back up to her face.

“I can’t carry you, I can’t hold you, you have to follow, if you slip up, if you slow do, or stop, then it’s your problem not mine,” he says, she pulls her hand away in surprise, and he smiles once again. “Don’t think that should be anything to worry about, I love you, it’s just, I can’t do this if I’m carrying you as well, so, you have to just follow, listen and obey…

  • Daily Grindhard

    Daily Grindhard

How long has it been since I shared words, too long I say, my mind has been elsewhere, preparing things, and, of course, keeping the blog turning over.
What changes have come, Whispered Words as shifted and morphed into Wrapped In Words, the same, yet not. Tales of different kinds will find its way here, not just poems and rancid death threats to the world. They will be something more sullied, if that can be done.

Dark Stars will continue, as the story really begins now, the set up is done, the opening credits have flickered by, and now it’s time for the action to start.

Lies, yes Lies will unfold anew, the world of darkness, technology and horror rolled into on tiny ball of violence, look for that to come soon.

Beware the YouChallenge, for it will be returning soon, as will the 50 Word Stories and their Expanded versions, keep watch, for that will be with us all soon.

And finally, fear The Roundhead, for the story is not yet done, and the beast, is far from defeated…

Until then my friends, few and many, let the darkness embrace you, for it knows what you want, and it knows how to give it to you.

    “Two hundred,” she says quickly.

He looks up at her, his eyes wide with disbelief, “You, are FUCKING kidding me? Two hundred FUCKING dollars? Are you INSANE?”

I met her by accident, well, okay, that’s not entirely true. I did mean to met her, but I didn’t go THERE to meet her, it happened. I guess you want some understanding, sure, I can see how that makes sense, so, let me start at the beginning, or, better yet, let’s start it from a hours ago, at Lenny Sanders fiftieth.

Originally I went there knowing full well my ex-wife and her new boy toy, Sammy the mother fucking porn star, would be there. I guess you can tell, we didn’t part on good terms, but, he is a porn star, that part I’m not joking about. You see, she wanted more out of life, and I was sick and tired of working my body to the bone and not getting any thing from it, so, we parted ways, I quit my job, and she started fucking ‘long dong’ Sammy, as he earned his money on his back, he had lots of energy for her, and she didn’t seem to mind that he shagged whatever he had to for a living…

When the doctor came into the room, the look on his face made my bladder lose control of itself for a few moments. He ran a sweaty hand through what little hair was on his head, and said, we need to take you in for more tests.

I asked the questions, the ones any of us would, but he couldn’t give me an answer. I said when, he handed me a container and said now, it was important to get on top of it all before it’s too late.

    Faded Flesh

    Time is reset,

    as we’re made to relive,

    the story again,

    over and over,

    each moment,

    each choice,

    remade,

    replayed,

    obstacles changed,

    trusts betrayed,

    the beast makes its move,

    and plays its hand,

    but so do we,

    death,

    is fluid,

    as is life,

    for our sins,

    we will fight,

    in faded flesh,

    to get,

    into,

    the light.
